Premiers are calling for the feds to streamline licensing for foreign-trained workers. My plan for a Blue Seal test would allow anyone who passes a merit-based exam to work as a nurse or doctor anywhere in Canada. We have the Red Seal that does this for trades, let's bring home Blue Seal for medical professionals.

But the “they didn’t have enough spices for their sad, bland food” argument definitely tracks. 🤣

The way colonization was explained to me as a kid in India was, “European food was *so* bland that they desperately needed spices. So bad that they decided to build their own spice routes after the fall of Constantinople.”
As someone who has been to Europe, I kind of get it now.
