@JJensehaugen yes, and there was a competing fake version that was apparently written by a Christian. Don Quixote became a media sensation, hence the two novels that were fictionally written about him. People were attracted to him for his entertainment value. Sound familiar?

@GregReichberg Going off on a digression train here, but I think what's funniest about this analogy is the fact that in Cervante's masterpiece Don's carzy tale is considered credible because it comes from a Muslim source.
