@RacingPost The root cause analysis for the underlying reason for the drop takes around three minutes to complete by anyone remotely familiar with racing; Prize Money.

Raven's Lady has bred another smart colt, Mr Lope Cen has classic entries and wins impressively on debut. Raven's Lady trained by @MarcoBotti for @hotsr won the G2 "Golden Whip" at Baden-Baden @DeutscherGalopp

@byronrogers73 Maybe that would work if vendors posted MRI scans and VO2 max measurements. I maintain that looking at a horse stand or walk is only good for reducing the risk of buying a very poor athlete.

So you’re telling me I can have it land on a yearling sales page, read the catalog page, look at the conformation image and the entire walk video and then ask it to learn the difference between elite and non-elite racehorses based on what they subsequently did on the track?

@nickluck It's like trying to stop a head on collision by adjusting the mirror so you can see out of the rear window more clearly. Maybe it's not a bad idea, but it's so far down the priority list that any improvement would be negligible.

@jamesaknight What's a bigger problem for GB racing currently? 1) the best horses are trained in Ire 2) British bred foal crop is declining at 5%-10% & the decline is accelerating? Granted, the BHA can work on resolving multiple things at once, but there is no visible action on key issues.

People shouldn't view every BHA initiative through the prism of 'are they fixing every problem in the entire game with this'?. UK NH racing currently has a real problem re the lack of stars coming through and racing here, hence 4 runner Kingwells and dire Xmas hurdles etc. This initiative might encourage some of the A list owners in the game to base more of their talent in the UK. It's a smart move.

@SophiexJane @MurrrrMurray They're grifting in an attempt to get funding for an exploratory study, even if they know the development will likely never get planning approval, the environmental impact studies can be very lucrative. It's pure deception and fraud.

@MurrrrMurray And in the Newmarket Journal Article they're sighted as 'London Based Developers" and unsurprisingly, they're absolutely developers. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck..

@mindmodeller @CheltenhamRaces The other factor at play is the majority of "racing media" being unwilling to discuss this topic in detail because much of their income is derived from advertising paid for by bookmakers. Despite the fact they are themselves locked in the downward spiral of decline.

This would suggest that there are no or very weak contractual obligations for members to remain part of the RCA. What have they been waiting for? Leave, align with the Jockey Club and force ARC and the bookmakers to get lost.

@BHAHorseracing Gross administrative negligence. Please consider a path to dissolve all boards voting power, an independent governing body should only consider the views of their stakeholders, not be tied and blocked by their stakeholders voting in their own vested interests.

“Jumps bred” wins well contested flat novice by 9.5 lengths. One wonders what might happen if more “jumps bred” contested flat novices as a result? Would we come to realise the division between flat & jumps breeding was completely arbitrary? They’re all just racehorses?! Hmm …
