@nickluck Disagree completely & wholeheartedly, GB racing could be broadcast openly and freely to anyone and everyone on many platforms, like the Japanese model. Some light advertising of the pool betting is all that is needed. This approach would have the maximum reach to drive betting.

@GregSaveall @DubaiAce Thanks for that, Greg. While you put the genie back in that particular bottle, there will be no network TV coverage. That's simply a fact. The shortcomings of the industry have been well underlined elsewhere.

@nickluck @DubaiAce Absolute nonsense Nick, I'm sure they pay you handsomely but please stop defending bookies that have taken the vast majority of profit out of racing for decades. We only need one way to bet on GB racing and retain all the profit, a pool betting structure.

@GregSaveall Slightly different, no? It's not like you are getting completely new football teams turning up and then when they win you read on X that they won a trial match 10-0 last week* (*but the result was irrelevant)

Some people still think information asymmetry is what makes UK horse racing great - backslapping duck egg gambles where normal recreational punters are effectively paying for the insiders' takeout (the 'romance of the game' apparently). Maybe it was in 1973 or whenever, but it really, really isn't now when racing fights for market share with data heavy, integrity rich sports like football and US sports

Beset is on the road to the Curragh for the Alleged Stakes. Huge day for her and all of us. A year ago she was rated 75, today she takes on Group 1 horses. It’s the hope that kills you, but whatever happens today, the @JosephOBrien2 team have done an incredible job with her. 🤞

@abracing0 I disagree, sometimes you just have to accept that training horses in GB is very different to other countries. It's not practical to share times of gallops, and barrier trials are just another type of gallop training, it's educational not a race.

These trial results should be made public information for allbettors Again, the lack of transparency in this country is woeful to say the least

It's hard yards as a small one mare breeder so any time one of them comes good as Kokoluna did today it's extra special. Thanks v much @johnsonhoughton @HollieDoyle1 and @JCamachoRacing for the early years here having a chat as a foal in Malton Aug '23

@abracing0 Far too many handicaps that trap horses into a merry-go-round system, reducing their opportunities of winning. Rewarding mediocrity instead of creating an aspirational system that rewards the best horse in a race. All driven by the bookies desire for close finishes #binthebookies

It has been a solid start to 2026, with March proving to be an extra fruitful month for the yard! So far this season we have saddled up 11 winners and have a strike rate of 23% 💪

@abracing0 No one has mentioned Britain, but I would be able to make a very strong case for Britain being slightly ahead of Ireland. JP/FR/US/AUS are a notch or two below GB & IRE and the rest of the world are a long way behind.
