Cracked Concrete A poem by Eric Pellinen A believably fake smile is cheap compared to expensive inner turmoil camouflaged by the smoothest surface walking at a brisk pace as if levitating over growing roots of future ideas ready to reshape discarded realities Time creates strength making cracks under foundations holding up obsolete structures well past their solid prime because eternity can only last as long as the ones imagining it As the light from daytime Heavens will put Hellish burden on paradises forgotten and never accepted by those who pretend to idealize a great delusion The cracked concretes built with hard hands in public and the softest hearts inside old private homes always occupied with every new era's loving families.
