If he engaged in what is a federal crime pursuant to the “stolen Valor act”, he would have been prosecuted, since people in the military have low regard for the act. So , the best thing to do, is to stop attacking a man ,who was never made liable for the conduct. If you want to attack somebody, look at Trump who had “bone spurs” , or Vance , who never was in battle but wants to question the integrity of someone else for the same, or anyone in the military ,who attacks someone who, maybe just had an opportunity to get to congress and took it. I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t have taken such an opportunity, if they had the skillset to do so. Walz deployed in August 2003 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The Minnesota National Guard told CBS News the battalion supported security missions at various locations in Europe and Turkey.
