@YankeeinCT Just a shot in the dark here but Greenwich Republicans aren’t capable of understanding the bill. It’s more manufactured hysteria. I asked them if companies advertising are getting favors in return. I mean they are saying CT media is corrupt 🤷🏻‍♀️

Why does committing to advertise in local media lead to state sponsored journalism? Shouldn't we support vital local journalism? Does the GOP want to see local media die? (rhetorical question!)

@LizZezima @YankeeinCT Is it Nancy on Norwalk? Greenwich Sentinel? CT Inside Investigator? Patch? Various penny savers? We don't take advertising (and are proud not to have taken 10k of corporate dollars on energy taken by our competitors for no clear advertising purpose).

@LizZezima @YankeeinCT I oppose it, in part because it props up a business model based on advertising that hasn't worked since 2009... but not enough to save it. It's also impossible to fairly determine what is and isn't journalism at this point...
