Why is our Marine Biology program one of the best in the country? When a Great White Shark washes up on shore all the way up in Myrtle Beach, it is brought down here to our Fort Johnson campus with DNR for analysis. Great experience for our students. 🦈 @CofC @GriceMarineLab

… it seems a terrible bummer that there is no emoji for algae (“Seaweed” is estimated to capture up to 175 million tons of CO2 each year based on a paper from 2016 by Krause-Jensen & Duarte published in Nature Geoscience, so you’d think it would’ve earned an emoji!!)
