Is your protagonist truly alive, or just a name on a page? ✍️ The difference between a 'good' story and a 'legendary' one is character depth. I curated 50 'soul-searching' questions to help you uncover what’s hiding beneath the surface. FREE for the #WritingCommunity. 🧵👇

was re-reading my own character prompt list and this one really made me think... 🧵✍️ "what is the one secret your protagonist would take to their grave?" sometimes the best plot twists come from the things our characters are too afraid to say out loud. i'm curious—tell me about your MC's biggest secret! 👇(p.s. full list of 50 questions in the thread below if you need more!) . . #WritingCommunity #CharacterDevelopment #AmWriting

i was tired of my stories living in scattered sticky notes and 5 different docs. one scene move would break the whole structure, and tracking emotional tension in just prose was a nightmare. 😩 so i wrote a manifesto for why i'm building gridance studio. it’s not just a tool—it’s a home for the craft. "writers don't need more features. they need an environment that lets them disappear into their story." . . #WritingCommunity #AmWriting #BuildInPublic

is it just me, or does anyone else spend more time fighting with their writing software than actually writing? the struggle is real. 😩lol. just updated the hero message on my landing page for gridance studio. i'm testing out: "Focus on Your Story, Not the Software." does this hit the mark, or does it feel too simplified? tell me what you think! 👇 . . #WritingCommunity #AmWriting #BuildInPublic

@BMSBashirudeen honestly, the jump from writing to marketing is a nightmare lol 💀 i’m trying this ‘Value-First’ thing for Gridance Studio—giving out a 50-question character workbook for free instead of just pitching. figure it’s better to be useful before asking for anything. #BuildInPublic

Many authors say writing the book is easier than finding the audience So I’d love to ask fellow authors How are you currently building your audience? Every author has a different path What has helped you connect with readers the most? #WritersOfTwitter #Author #WritingCommunity

Writing in 2nd person is such a bold move! ✍️ It’s notoriously tricky because the reader’s psyche has to perfectly align with the 'You' on the page. I found that doing a psychological deep-dive early on is the only way to keep that POV from falling apart. (Actually pinned a 50-question workbook on my profile exactly for this kind of character-mapping if it helps!)

What’s a story you would love to write, but haven’t figured out yet? I so want to write a second-person story and, while I have a rough idea for one, I can’t seem to sort out some issues in it #writingq #WritingCommunity

Ugh, the start-stop cycle is the absolute worst. 💀 Truly feels like trying to restart an engine in the middle of a highway. This struggle is exactly why I started building Gridance Studio—I needed a way to 'anchor' my flow so I don't waste 20 mins just trying to remember where I was. (P.S. There's a character workbook pinned on my profile if you need a quick muse-boost! ✍️)

What would be the best part about writing full-time? Staying in my muse flow state, full time and without apology. I have to start and stop my creative process to the tune of life's demands. It's so hard to get into the zone and so easy to slip out. #writingq #WritingCommunity

Sample questions that’ll shake your story: What is the one truth they can’t admit to themselves? What would they do if they lost their most prized possession? What is their greatest unconfessed sin? No more cardboard characters.

@GridanceStudio Visualizing story plotting sounds like a game changer for writers who struggle with structure. Local-first is also a great choice for privacy. Since you are launching soon, listing Gridance Studio on viberankdev could help you build some early momentum.

@Plotwist_ing favorites first, 100%. lol. if i get hooked on a specific scene or a new feature, the rest of the list just ceases to exist. once that hyperfocus kicks in, there’s no stopping until it’s done.

When you have a to-do list, do you start from your favourites and push the rest back till you can or start with the ones you hate most? 👀

@klhicks912 preach! 👏 there is no torture quite like re-reading a scene you already hated writing. it’s like trying to polish a stone that just won't shine. keeping that spark alive during the first draft is literally a survival skill for later. lol.

Remember that when you write your story, you need to enjoy it as well. If you don't, not only will it show, but it will stink the next four or five times you have to reread your work.

Now that I'm a writer, I read books differently. I appreciate the endless work, the time, the courage it took the author to pour their heart onto those pages. I hold in my hands a real part of them. Someone's dream that came true. It truly feels magical. #WritingCommunity

@DNicholsAuthor so true. it’s like having x-ray vision now. i can’t help but see all the invisible hours and the 'soul' behind every sentence. once you know the struggle, every book feels like a minor miracle.

monday mood: trying to untangle this plot knot 🧶☕️ i used to get so overwhelmed looking at a blank page, but mapping it out visually is a total game changer. it’s like turning a messy brain into a clear roadmap. anyone else struggling with a specific scene today? let’s talk! 👇 . . #WritingCommunity #BuildInPublic #GridanceStudio

is it just me or is the 'messy middle' actually a nightmare? 💀 what’s the one thing that totally kills your writing momentum? for me, it’s when i have 10 brilliant scenes in my head but absolutely no idea how to bridge the gap between them. it feels like a puzzle with missing pieces. tell me yours! 👇 . . #WritingCommunity #AmWriting

@BranwenOShea Exactly! Half the fun is figuring out which brand of chaos works for us. lol. It took me a while to stop fighting my 'biographer' side and just embrace it. Thanks for the great perspective! ✨

Another way of looking at plotting vs. pantsing: Some authors create characters. Others document the escapades of the ones who show up.
