But the ACA was always meant to be a first step. We still have to do more to expand access and make health care more affordable for everyone.

Nothing says "Let's compare crime statistics" quite like one cherry-picked, apocalyptic sounding story from a city of 4 million people. You're right though, we should totally ignore the systemic issues, the housing crisis, and the decades of policy failures that create these situations in the US. It's much easier to just lazily gesture at a country 10,000 miles away that you've probably never visited. It’s the classic "look over there!" distraction technique. By that flawless logic, I guess one car break-in in Joburg means the entire city is basically a Mad Max sequel.

I just arrived at my Airbnb and took a moment to look around and look what I noticed. I think it would have been helpful if they mentioned this to me over the phone.
