Boise State Basketball fans need some info about new transfers soon. This quiet news front with all the losses and entering a stronger overall BB Conference is.. unsettling.

@BJRains @Matt_Manning85 BJ is correct. Our staff didn’t want to overpay and overpromise a starting spot to him. Other schools he was linked to recruited over him as well. He didn’t have much leverage. It’s a better deal to go back to Poly, start and get to shoot 15-20 times a game

@Matt_Manning85 I don't think Boise State saw him as a starter - and the offer reflected that. For similar money he decided to go back to Cal Poly.

How bad of a visit did he have at Boise or could Bsu not match the vaunted NIL deal of Cal Poly?

We’ll see how Boise State rounds out the roster (2-3 spots left), but right now this roster looks like a much higher ceiling defensively but is going to need a significant leap from returners in offensive creation.

Most of the conference doesn't have enough players to give a good projection for next season... However, Colorado State is 74th with most of their roster back. Oregon State is 78th with their current roster. San Diego State is 43rd without the transfers their sure to bring in. Gonzaga is 14th and if they land Massamba Diop will be 6th. Good chance Broncos will be 6th heading into next seasons

Playing around with Bart Torvik's RosterCast, and based off Boise State's likely additions, the Broncos currently project 84th in Torvik. Boise State going to need massive development and/or big-time portal additions to look favorably in the early projections.

Jerquarius Stanback had 65 blocks and 34 steals last season. Boise State's highest performers in those stats last season were just 17 blocks by Drew Fielder and 21 steals by Dylan Andrews.

My ideal is just someone with upside. Doesn't have to be a proven player. Isiah Harwell would've checked the box or an Alvaro Cardenas type would do too, but someone who you can talk yourself into being the best player on the team next year. A lot of the intel out there is for guys I see as good role players. This team needs someone who can be a star.

Cal Poly’s style of play leads to Wards scoring numbers being inflated IMO. They just get a lot of shots up. In the Pac-12 he’s probably an 8ppg type of guy
