@GroatRendall Think you need to put your solar or wind powered calculator in a strong breeze or direct sunlight for a while. 🤣 2.8% on $1.7m + GST & a $10k excess ….. isn’t exactly conducive to making harvesting profitable.

Who knows of a wrecked 8240 or 8250 with 12.9lt Iveco engine around. After the engine fan hub pulley.

@agrobaz Similar experience’s with most new systems on SP’s. Finding a % of misses due to shadowing and speed. We are back in these paddocks every 3 weeks. Not fun for growers or agro’s. We are finding the Robots most accurate due to speed/shadowing/operator error is out of the equation.

Interested in others thoughts but I’m not happy with some modern spot spray cameras. They are a massive step backwards from weedits imo with no fix in sight. This is 2 weeks after a jd see and spray. That brand is not alone, so not isolating a brand. What are others seeing?

Anyone got rims or rims and tyres to suit Case Magnum 10 stud with 650 or 620 width? Duals and matching front which i think is a 600.

@agrobaz I find at least with older gear you know it’s out of warranty so you can easily control the situation. Sounds bad but seems to be better then fighting dealers for warranty and the politics that follow, no one wants to take responsibility…

I just don’t like where we are heading in Ag! Seems the newer the equipment, the more problems that occur, and less competent people around that can fix them. Bloody frustrating and causing many businesses including mine a lot of unnecessary cost and down time. 🤬

@JJfarmequipment My limited experience working machines in North America on operating lease was set at X amount of hrs on each machine P/A and that was how the cost was worked out, if the hrs varied between seasons there were penalties etc not sure of this is still the case. Eg drought

#AgTwitter with farm equipment as expensive as ever (million dollars + is the new round number for a lot of the big gear these days...& you need a couple of these items on your farm), do Australian farmers move away from chattel mortgages (owning) & towards operating leases (serviced or not serviced)? I was told a few years ago that Europe was nearly 100% operating lease & North America was around 70%-80%. How do family farms or contractors justify owning outright these big ticket items outright in todays market? Operating lease you have it for 'X' amount of years, then get the choice to buy it, hand it back for another at same or similar payments or give it back 100%. You can claim the rental as a deduction & it's off the balance sheet for accounting. I think we are coming to a time where the question has to be seriously considered & discussed with accountants & farm financial planners as the days of doing what our parents did are quickly changing on many levels.

We’ve had a lovely relationship with the Grain Vac..dust free, no brooms, a deeply satisfying finish. But the time has come for change. Any tips on retro fitting a sweep system to these Ascom bins? @DMAg_consultant @ryan_milgate @johngbennett

For people who haven’t seen it, this is a lightning strike in a cotton field. It’s about 9m round. It’s interesting on the edges what plants survived & what got zapped. #cotton #gwydirvalley #auscotton #Lightning
