People like this never have to worry about "not complying" because it's performative for them. They live isolated from the rest of us and they have protective measures in place so they don't get infected by the poors. You'll pay the cost and it won't impact them in the slightest

Sunrise? Sunset? Nah. That’s Las Vegas light pollution from 200 miles away, seen from my home at around midnight.

You know what really bugs me these days? We can't own anything anymore. Everything is a subscription. Adobe, Notion, Spotify. You don't just buy things once, you keep paying every month. You literally have to pay for everything forever. Isn't anyone else bothered by this?

⚡️The stock market and the housing market are telling two completely different stories. Both are true. They’re just describing two completely different Americas that happen to share the same currency and the same president. America One owns assets. Stocks, crypto, real estate purchased before 2022 with a low rate mortgage. This America is doing great. Portfolio values are recovering from the war dip. Bitcoin is breaking out. The tax bill just handed them an income boost through cuts and a higher SALT cap. Their home equity is intact because prices haven’t fallen. Transactions have frozen but valuations haven’t corrected. They don’t need to sell. They don’t need to buy. They sit on their cheap mortgage and watch their portfolio recover. This America drives the S&P higher. America Two works for wages. Rents. Carries credit card debt at punishing rates. Can’t buy a home because the monthly payment on a median house has doubled since 2020 and nobody with a cheap mortgage is selling. This America just reported record financial pessimism. They’re financing groceries on credit. Their real wages went negative. The tax bill cut their safety net programs and gave them a tax cut worth approximately nothing because they already pay near zero federal income tax at their income level. Gas keeps climbing and every dollar of that comes straight out of their discretionary budget. This America drives consumer sentiment to generational lows. The housing market is the physical manifestation of the wall between these two Americas. Transaction volume has collapsed not because the market is crashing but because it’s calcified. Frozen in amber. The lock-in effect created a structural barrier that no policy lever available in 2026 can break.
