In about one hour, I will be arraigned on 4 felony counts and face up to 30 years in prison for taking this little guy out of a Ridglan cage. Every time I come home, he jumps in my lap and begs to be picked up. It was the first place he ever felt safe. Rescuing him was not a crime. It was one of the best things I've ever done. 🚨 CAT SHOT WITH .22 RIFLE IN NORTH YORKSHIRE VILLAGE A young cat had to be euthanised after vets discovered she had been shot with what is believed to have been a .22 rifle in a quiet North Yorkshire neighbourhood. The grey-and-white tabby returned home to Whitewall in Norton on 5 May after being missing for around a week, dragging herself on her front legs and unable to use her back end. Her devastated owners initially feared she had been hit by a car. A veterinary examination revealed far more disturbing injuries. According to the RSPCA, the young female cat had suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and a shattered femur, with fragments recovered from her body suggesting she had been shot using live ammunition from a .22 rifle. Despite undergoing emergency surgery, the severity of the injuries left vets with no option but to put her to sleep the following day on welfare grounds. The shooting has sparked fresh concern over the scale of weapon attacks on animals across Britain. The RSPCA said it has received nearly 500 reports involving animals targeted with weapons over the past three years, including shootings, catapult attacks and crossbow incidents. Inspectors are now urging residents in the Welham Road and Whitewall Corner Hill areas of Norton to remain vigilant and report suspicious behaviour. The use of firearms against domestic pets remains a serious criminal offence and animal welfare organisations have repeatedly warned that cases involving cats are often difficult to solve because attacks frequently happen at night or in isolated areas without witnesses. Anyone with information about the shooting is being urged to contact the RSPCA quoting incident number 01795343.

Why did I walk to school and back, an almost 4 mile round trip to save the 5p fare money my mum gave me? Why did I go buy old Marvel comics for 2p and sell them for 5p at school? Why did I save all my birthday and Xmas money? Why did I go to work at 16? Why did I sweep up human faeces from the back of British Aerospace on the Strand as a job? Why did I become a comedian and do door split gigs that barely paid my Tube fair? Why did I drive 600 mile round trips in a night to gig to save money on a hotel? Why did I cycle to the Comedy Store in London to gig to save money? Why did I use all that money to raise a deposit for my first house? Why did I do all those TV warm up gigs sometimes driving 4 hour round trips to earn money? Why did I appear on TV to earn money and pay off my mortgage early? Why did I then buy a building to turn into a comedy club? Why did I do most of the internal demolition work myself to keep the costs down? Why did I do every job in the club including cleaning the toilets and unblocking the drains so I could then ask my staff to do it? Why did I subsequently demolish the building and risk everything to build a hotel and restart my comedy club? I’ll tell you why… It’s so that when I die the government will steal circa 40% of my money that I would like to leave to my wife and kids. That’s why. Why did I bother?
