@brucefenton All Palestine had to do was return the hostages they took in an unprovoked attack the launched against civilians. Instead they hid combatants in hospitals and schools. Gaza only exists today because of Israel’s restraint.

We have to ask at this point why Israel has a right to exist. They have showed they can’t behave in a global community. The PEOPLE have a right to exist. But the state is showing itself to be a negative to humanity. Would the world be better without it?

Make new friends, but keep the old. A new photo captures the Moon's near side on the right (the side we see from Earth, identifiable by its dark splotches) and its far side on the left. The Artemis II crew are the first to see the far side with human eyes.

I agree with renowned historian Timothy Snyder. Trump is going to stage a coup. As Snyder explains, Trump's proposed 50% defense budget increase should be seen as nothing short of a bribe to secure military loyalty for a coup attempt — and that a staged domestic terror attack is Trump's best remaining path to nullifying elections. Pete Hegseth's recent firing of Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George is more evidence that the fascist authoritarian Trump regime is more interested in loyalty than competence. If the 79-year-old pedophile psychopath is to succeed in conning the US Armed Forces into supporting him in overthrowing American democracy and the constitution, his only chance is to have quislings and sycophants throughout the top brass in the military.

@dom_lucre Cadillac is horrible. They have neat features and good performance, but something will always be broken and it'll cost $1000+ to fix. I've had to deal with: - broken seat belt. - broken wiper fluid motor - 3 recalls on a 4 YO car. it's just not worth it.

𝐑𝐄𝐏. 𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐅𝐎𝐍𝐆: 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐀’𝐒 𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇-𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐄𝐃 𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐋 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐀 “𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐓𝐄 𝐁𝐀𝐈𝐓-𝐀𝐍𝐃-𝐒𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐂𝐇” 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐎𝐍𝐄 Congressman Vince Fong, a Republican from Bakersfield who sits on the House Transportation Committee, calling the project what it is: a fraud sold to voters under false pretenses. “𝘞𝘦’𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘪𝘯 2026. 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘰 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴. 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦’𝘴 𝘯𝘰 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘥. 𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘪𝘵-𝘢𝘯𝘥-𝘴𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘤𝘩”. His analogy was devastating: “𝘞𝘦’𝘳𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘔𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘣𝘶 𝘣𝘺 𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘵 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳. 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘺𝘴, 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵? 𝘐𝘯 𝘧𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴, 𝘸𝘦’𝘳𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘥𝘰𝘨𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘔𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘰”. The 2008 business plan that sold voters on the project? “𝘝𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭” — Fong’s words. “𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯. 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯’𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘴 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘶𝘵”. Kevin Dalton frames it correctly: “Gavin Newsom’s high speed rail will go down as the 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲.” The numbers support the accusation. Voters approved $𝟗.𝟗𝟓 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 in bonds in 2008 for a $33 billion project. The cost is now $𝟏𝟐𝟔 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 — a 𝟐𝟖𝟐% 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 — with a $90 billion funding gap and zero operational track. Over $𝟏𝟖 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 has already been spent on concrete guideway in the Central Valley, connecting Merced to Bakersfield — two cities that were never part of the original pitch. The original promise: L.A. to San Francisco in 2 hours 40 minutes by 2020. The current reality: a concrete ribbon in the San Joaquin Valley with track construction not even starting until late 2026, completion of just the Central Valley segment projected for 𝟐𝟎𝟑𝟐, and full L.A.-to-S.F. service on no published timeline. How much of the estimated $126bn is allocated for fraud?

𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐖𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐃𝐄𝐕𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆. “𝘈𝘴 𝘸𝘦 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘬 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘸, 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦 𝘓.𝘈. 𝘵𝘰 𝘚𝘢𝘯 𝘍𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘰?” “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘸𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺”, answered Anthony Williams, a California High-Speed Rail Authority board member. The current estimated cost: $𝟏𝟐𝟔 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧. The shortfall: roughly $𝟗𝟎 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧. That’s not a rounding error. That’s the GDP of a mid-sized country. When voters approved this project in 2008 via Proposition 1A, they were promised $𝟑𝟑 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 for a San Francisco-to-Los Angeles bullet train operational by 2020. Here we are in 2026 — 𝐬𝐢𝐱 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 — and not a single mile of track has been laid. The state has spent over $𝟏𝟖 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 on guideway and civil structures in the Central Valley, with 80 miles of concrete completed between Merced and Bakersfield (CHSRA 2026 Business Plan). No trains. No track. No stations. Just concrete in the middle of farmland, connecting two cities nobody was asking to connect. Williams’ confidence: “𝘋𝘰 𝘸𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦? 𝘈𝘣𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺”. But when pressed on how, the answer was vague — “𝘢𝘯 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦” involving cost optimization, private investment, and connecting to bigger cities sooner. Translation: they have no plan, but they’re confident about having no plan. The track contract hasn’t even been awarded yet — that’s expected in Q2 2026, with actual track construction starting 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 at the earliest (Railway Age). The Merced-to-Bakersfield segment isn’t projected for completion until 𝟐𝟎𝟑𝟐. $𝟏𝟐𝟔 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧. 𝐙𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬. 𝐙𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤. 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐬, “𝐀𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲” 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐚.

EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin didn’t take the bait. Instead, he systematically dismantled the premise. First, he called out CNN’s own graphics: “𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘰 𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘰 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬’𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵.” CNN was showing 𝐬𝐦𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 — stationary sources. The EPA’s proposal to rescind the 2009 endangerment finding is specifically about 𝐦𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬: 𝐯𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬. They weren’t even showing the right pictures. Then he went after the science: “𝘎𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘵𝘰 2009, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘰𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘴𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘴. The EPA officially rescinded the Obama-era endangerment finding on 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 — the largest deregulatory action in U.S. history, eliminating the legal foundation for over $𝟏 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 including Biden’s electric vehicle mandates (U.S. EPA). The final rule takes effect April 26. 𝐂𝐍𝐍 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬. 𝐙𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲.
