Ticket prices — from concerts to the World Cup — have exploded over the last decade, in part, thanks to Live Nation's monopoly of the market. Live Nation's level of control enables them to pile on junk fees every time someone buys a ticket.

Cheaper gasoline was the main star of today’s June inflation report. The issue though is the ceasefire that led to some relief at the pump has since collapsed, and gas prices have reversed. Both oil and gas prices rose last week. This report doesn’t capture that.

In Delta's earnings call today, the company revealed that in the face of a 50% increase in fuel costs, their profit margins nearly tripled in Q2, from 3.2% to 9.4%. Ed Bastian, CEO, said the quiet part out loud: The company no longer thinks it needs to compete on price.
