Two NZ dairy plants sold - a2 Milk buys Yashili Pokeno plant for $282 million, sells its Mataura Valley Milk plant in Gore to Open Country Dairy. a2's 75% stake in Mataura fetches $100m. China Animal Husbandry Group’s (CAHG) also sells its 25% stake in Mataura to OCD.

NZ media need a shake up. If butter prices are the worse thing happening in NZ then we are in real trouble as a country. If NZ Dairy farmer do well, our communities do well. Just worked out that we donate as our business $3,500 in calf donations to our local sport clubs, A&P

@GrovesCole @foragoodwoody I’d assume either looking to get the farm & yoghurt biz at full speed then scale, or that’s as far as they want to go with it. Or down the track is a low enviro footprint farm the alternative to spending all profit on tech in the race to bottom of commodity barrel?

Cool to see the Align Group get their Regen Yoghurt brand on the supermarket shelf with proven health and environmental benefits. No patented seed or silver bullets and their IP is freely available if any other dairy farmers wanted to achieve a similar result. True innovation

@duncanyzf20 @foragoodwoody They have a very deep pocket with the owner of Align. Why haven’t they done it across more of their farms??

@foragoodwoody Yes selling the product for top dollar is key. Tatua & even Fonterra shown this too with their consumer brands. My thoughts with this around showing low enviro impact achievable without the need for hundreds of millions invested by taxpayers trying to commercialise solutions
