The final event of the year brought a bountiful harvest! Plenty of veggies to keep our members well fed in the last week of the term 🧅🥬🍓

@Grow_With_Joe @brumcyclist @CoopsPine Good to hear that the planters are being put to good use. I think @brumcyclist's concern was that they were not being used for parking bikes - if they are, there is no need for concern. I might swing by sometime to see how they're planted. I'll have a couple to plant up soon.

A query for the #HiveMind: I need some cycle storage for our temporary home. There is plenty of outside space but we are renting so I need something free standing. Are there Sheffield stands that are free standing? I think one of you recommended some a while back ...

@brumcyclist @ShivajiShivaLaw @CoopsPine Our bike planters are used regularly by our volunteers at events! We’re sorry if you consider them a waste, but perhaps if you’re passing on a Wednesday afternoon or Sunday then you can see them in use!

@ShivajiShivaLaw @CoopsPine I've had my eye on the one (2?) by university north gate that is being used as a planter only and not where it can be used for bike parking. A waste.

Thank you to the @uobconservation volunteers and @Grow_With_Joe for keeping me busy every Sunday for the past four years! I am so grateful for my time with the society and the wonderful people that I’ve met. I can’t wait to see how BUCV continues to grow in the future 🍓💗🌺👩‍🌾

Thank you to all of our volunteers for your hard work over the past year! The garden has been transformed and we are very grateful to everyone that has helped out week on week. We hope that everybody has a relaxing summer and we can’t wait to see you all again in September!

The wildflower borders at GWJ always look very pretty at this time of year and they’re a great habitat for pollinators too🐝 #NoMowMay

We have a new resident at GWJ - Jemima the duck! We have a strong suspicion that she is nesting in our perennial bed so look out for her popping in and out from amongst the currants 🦆

@magabrosio That’s perfect. There are usually events on Sunday mornings so I’m sure there will be people there if you wanted to leave it with someone. The plant swap stand would also be a great place! It’s up to you. Thank you in advance!

@magabrosio Hi @magabrosio, I’m sure we could use that around some of our plants! Feel free to drop it off and maybe leave it next to the compost? Or someone can come and meet you if you’d rather?

@magabrosio Hi @magabrosio, thank you so much for the inquiry! It should be fine to put it in the compost bins since it’s compostable. How much do you have? We could also use it to insulate our plants in the colder months if you have a lot to get rid of!
