Every single time I post updates about my products, someone attacks them.
Over the last six months, 50% of my time has been spent fighting DDoS attacks & spam.
This time, they automated browser actions to fill up my db.
I'm changing my BuildInPublic strategy:
1. I'll stop sharing any revenue numbers publicly.
I'll still share the traffic and number of users because it's useful for other makers.
2. I'll stop sharing links to my websites when I share SEO lessons. The last time I shared, I saw someone copying my articles to their website (which has a higher domain rating) and stealing my traffic immediately and all my keyword research efforts.
I'll still share these lessons, but I won't include the links to articles, keywords, or domains.
3. I'll spend the summer ramping up my security and spam/bot protection. I already have Cloudflare for DDoS, but it doesn't stop browser automation and "business logic attacks".
So, I'm working on implementing an AI logic that will watch all new users and items daily to see if anything is suspicious (I do this manually).
