Everyone voted in Trump because he promised radical change and now they're crying about him doing radical change. "Waaaaaaah gas is $5 a gallon!" Yeah, that sucks. I agree. But guess what, Reagan's deregulation in the 80s was equally disruptive. Republicans lost the 1982 midterms because the Volcker shock had stopped inflation dead at the cost of creating a recession while deregulation's benefits had not yet kicked in. Farmers were so pissed off they blockaded the Fed's headquarters with their tractors. It was believed Reagan would be a one-term president and the Democrats would end this trickle-down madness after winning in 1984. And then the Volcker shock ended once inflation had been curbed, the deregulatory effects kicked in, America went through an incredible period of economic growth, and the Democrats were left standing around with their dicks in their hands. Trump has made his agenda very, very clear. He wants to sever trade relationships outside of the Americas because they've enfeebled America and made it dependent on hostile states like China and India. Tariffs are part of this. The other part is making doing business in Europe and Asia so expensive that manufacturers and business have no choice but to relocate to America itself or to LATAM countries if they want to keep their shirts. I called this "Fortress America": putting all of our crucial supply lines in the Western Hemisphere, where we are the unchallenged hegemon and China can't fuck with us. Every foreign policy action Trump has taken is about furthering "Fortress America." One of the first things he did was successfully chase the Chinese out of Panama through carrot and stick, securing American dominance over the Panama Canal. Killing USAID was in part about weakening libtard Latin governments that have been cozying up to China; since it ended, the left has lost every election in Latin America. Arresting Maduro was about ending Venezuela's trade relationships with China and redirecting their oil to refineries in Texas and Louisiana. We're already well along the path of normalizing relations with them, ending sanctions and restoring formal diplomatic ties. And Iran is about driving up energy costs to the point where international corporations can no longer outsource or offshore to turd world countries in Asia. Trump is playing dirty because India and China play dirty. The Chinese secured a monopoly on rare earths production because they sold their rare earths at a loss in the 90s to drive American competitors out of business. Trump is hitting back by severing the sweetheart deals China was getting on oil, the deals that enable their industrial base to even be competitive in the first place. It won't produce immediate results, just like trickle-down economics didn't. But when gas prices are $1.50 a gallon in 2027, unemployment is 2 percent, all the jobs India stole are back in America, all the Indians are GONE from America, and the purchasing power of Americans has tripled, you're gonna be begging the gods of the copybook headings to forgive you for not trusting the plan. This is what "America First" looks like in practice. It's not some lolbert fantasy where we withdraw from the world and trade peacefully. You can't treat irrational brownoid hellholes like China, India, or Iran rationally. You hit them with the stick and offer a carrot when they beg you to stop. You have the entire body of Trump's written works and public statements going back to the 80s as proof of what I am saying. But the Retard Right would rather retreat into low-IQ anti-Semitism then admit that Trump is smarter than them.
