you won’t believe this 😭 so I bought a new laptop today did the whole setup uninstalled Microsoft Edge now I have… no browser how do you install a browser without a browser....am I cooked? 😭

@magagoals @CyberRacheal You’re right, 169 can be used, in fact it covers over 65,000 clients. Why they used that many is anyone’s guess, but in theory if the dhcp server failed they could all talk to each other. Complete waste of ip addresses though.

@CyberRacheal better. probably c) though that only covers machines that leverage it, not those with static ips. Also... 169.254.x.x can be used for a local network.... so b) could also be the answer

@dvineet9 @CyberRacheal I get what you’re saying, but rarely is that true. It’s most likely a wifi, ethernet cable or switch issue. The dhcp server is running fine and somewhere in the middle the connection has failed, most often wifi been turned off.

@CyberRacheal Answer: C) DHCP A 169.254.x.x address is an APIPA (Automatic Private IP Addressing) address, which means the system couldn’t get an IP from a DHCP server—so DHCP is likely unavailable.

Math trick Ask someone to name a two-digit number. Let’s say the person calls out 13. You then write down 13 and keep writing consecutive numbers until you have 10 numbers in total: 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 What’s the sum of these numbers? All you need to do is find the 5th number from the left, which is 17. Then simply put a 5 to that number to get 175—and that’s the sum! Let’s try another example. Suppose for 69. BREAKING: Microsoft just announced several major changes to Windows 11 in an effort to win back user trust and evolve the platform into something people will actually want to use over macOS and Linux! It's a huge announcement that addresses Windows 11's biggest problems today, tackling core fundamental issues such as unreliable system performance, UX consistency, AI bloat and general enshittification. Microsoft has confirmed that this year, it WILL be reducing where ads and Copilot appear throughout the system, including in Start, Widgets, Notepad, Photos, and more! File Explorer and Windows Search will be upgraded with improved performance and capabilities that make finding apps and files much faster and easier. The OS will become lighter with less RAM and system utilization at idle, making it smoother to run on low end hardware with limited memory. These improvements will also benefit high-end PCs too. Windows Update will be improved with more granular controls and the ability to postpone updates for longer, along with reducing how often the OS needs to restart to install an update. Microsoft has also confirmed that it's bringing back fan favourite features such as the ability to move the Taskbar! It's also working to update more areas of the system shell with modern WinUI designs, which should make Windows 11 feel more coherent and complete. There's much more in the announcement, and it honestly all sounds too good to be true. Microsoft really is listening to feedback, and is eager to make Windows the BEST desktop OS on the market.
