With his @Fender Telecaster, Anders shows us how to move down the neck in 6th intervals, with a clever plucked lick at the end to resolve it. He shows you all 7 of the diatonic 6ths in the key of D Mixolydian. #leadguitar #country

Ever feel like you’re trapped going up and down the same major pentatonic shape? On his @GretschUSA Black Falcon, Anders demonstrates: you can play it diagonally! IT’S ACTUALLY THE SAME NOTES, but it will sound more musical because you’ll be sliding from position to position.

What in the Bluegrass is happening here?! We’re not sure, but maybe you can figure it out! Can you actually play this? If so, we’ll give you a free banjo emoji, just like this one: 🪕 #bluegrass #acoustic

Anders picks up his @Fender Telecaster and plucks his way up the neck using 6th intervals on the D and B strings — and it’s such a classic sound! He goes through them all 7 of them in the key of D Mixolydian, with a cool little lick at the end to wrap it up.

Are you stuck in one minor pentatonic position? Anders grabs his @GretschUSA Black Falcon and shows us that we can break out of those “vertical” pentatonic shapes by playing the scale DIAGONALLY. SAME NOTES, but it sounds very different!

Here's why 99% of guitarists can't play guitar! The secret? It's all about TONE. For instance, try this lick. Go ahead. See if you can play it with that beautiful "SINGING" quality -- like instructor Ben Lindholm just did. We didn't think you could.

Why are SIMPLE riffs the BEST? #classicrock As our physical skills increase, we think we need to add more and more notes. But we DON'T. Just play those few notes BETTER. Leave lots of space, imply a solid groove, and that's all you need. 🤘 @gibsonguitar @GretschUSA

OK, we're not even going to try to explain this one. When Anders was warming up on camera, he busted this one out. If you can figure out what he's doing, let us know. 😂 @gretsch

What is a LINE CLICHÉ? No, it doesn't mean it's BAD. 😂 It's a jazz melody / harmony technique, where a line moves chromatically against a static chord. For another example in a completely different genre, check out @Megadeth "Hangar 18"🤘#musictheory

You don't need to dive DEEP into learning every single inversion shape of every chord on the entire neck. Just start small! In a previous video, we showed you MAJOR. Now, here are 3 inversions of an A MINOR triad on the D, G, and B strings.

Got SLIDE problems? #bluesguitar #countryguitar Anyone who has played slide on their guitar has run into these problems: dead notes, clacking frets. If you prefer low action, it's really a hassle! There's a solution, and it's called an EXTENSION NUT. @stewmac_guitar

Anders shows the most basic version of "bending behind the nut" to get that country pedal-steel sound out of your guitar. This technique goes a LOT deeper (and we explore it in an upcoming tutorial) -- but for now, this is a basic trick anyone can use. @GretschUSA
