This is what happens when leaders try to appease minorities for votes. Weakness invites disrespect – and trying to placate conflicting interests only fuels more radical demands. This incident isn't just embarrassing – it should be a turning point. Debate foreign policy - but do so peacefully and ensure it’s in the interests of Australia. We need leaders with the spine to put our country first, without compromise or apology.

Anthea Harris, a key architect of Australia’s climate policy has been appointed ‘Fuel Supply Taskforce Coordinator’ and will manage fuel supply nationwide. Her inaugural salary was $250,000 a year as head of the Climate Change Authority and she’ll be earning approx $490,000 now.
