Gun Makers Match 2026 was a huge success! First place Kit Rifle and 1st overall Rifle, second place Printed PCC and 2nd overall PCC 🤙 the RM5 upper ran flawless all day! The lower may have lost its grip at some point but the guys helped me fix it 🫶 #gunmakersmatch @3D2ATV

@DavidGumm @ATFirearmsTTV That is the plan. I'm adding more detents because 2 didnt slow the bolt velocity enough. I'd like to run nothing more than a carbine buffer and spring with a spacer. Right now in the video I was at about 7oz of buffer mass with a carbine spring

In case anyone was wondering how the detent delayed blowback system works on the RM5. They interact with the "gas key" of a blowback 9mm bolt. I think it needs more delay so quad detent version next 🤙 @ATFirearmsTTV

@bored2twotoo @ReggiSaxx Yeah bullshit. If I was OP and I had one of my many hunting rifles near by this nut job would have been room temp without hesitation. OP had a great vantage point for an accurate shot

@ReggiSaxx varying points of opinion here which everyone is entitled to. The discussion needs to be had to find a solution whether we have the answers or not at the current moment .I still want to point out the whole good guys with guns is BS too. Can’t prevent this with any good guy.

Massachusetts has some of the strictest gun laws in the country and i’m supposed to believe this guy just walks out of a psyche ward and magically finds a fully kitted multi thousand dollar AR15 that he’s clearly never shot before. Sure.

@3DArms @StephenG4242 @3D2ATV @ATFirearmsTTV @rg3dprints I figured so. I'm making it around the parts I currently have which are unfortunately no longer in production. Once I verify this is in fact a feasible option I will buy a new OTS bolt to design around

@Gunder_Mifflin @StephenG4242 @3D2ATV @ATFirearmsTTV @rg3dprints Different bolts have that hole in different places so you'll need to standardize on a bolt (or bolts) that match. It might just be that some are on axis, others angled, but I never actually measured the distance from the rear to be sure, but that might differ too.

@Gunder_Mifflin @ATFirearmsTTV @3D2ATV @rg3dprints @albert9x19 Tested it on my Frontier-9 lower. Still need to release that too, just a simplier Ubar without the U-bar. Rear lug was nearly sheered off completly after only 50 or so rounds, (elegoo pla+, printed pic rail down) Cheers to @albert9x19 for helping me headspace and letting me test.

@3DArms @StephenG4242 @3D2ATV @ATFirearmsTTV @rg3dprints It hasn't so far. Next version will have 2 sets of detents. One set at the back interfacing with the hole for the bolt weight roll pin and these at the gas block. This single set of small detents is not providing enough delay for my liking

@Gunder_Mifflin @ATFirearmsTTV How do you know how strong the spring has to be? Springs are a bitch, a little too hard or a little to soft and things go real bad, real fast.

@StephenG4242 @3D2ATV @ATFirearmsTTV @rg3dprints Uses off the shelf screw in detents. The delay is coming from the bolt having to overcome the spring force pressing on the ball bearings in the detent assemblies

@Gunder_Mifflin @3D2ATV @ATFirearmsTTV @rg3dprints Detent delayed? That sounds novel. I'm guessing that it's like roller delay, but with some type of spring loaded component?

@IWantToGetOut21 @ATFirearmsTTV This is doing nothing more than making the bolt overcome a spring force being exerted on a ball bearing. It sits behind the gas key and has to push the ball out of the way to "unlock" it basically the cave man version of a roller delay

@Gunder_Mifflin @ATFirearmsTTV How do you do the math to know the angles? I was always curious about the mp5 roller delayed system but i couldn't find a place that tells you more or less the angles of the roller and the ramp in the bolt.
