Wednesday, 14 May 2025: Eskom confirms that Stage 2 loadshedding will continue during the evening peak hours only, from 16:00 to 22:00, today and on Thursday, 15 May 2025, as previously announced. This measure remains necessary to manage generation capacity while ensuring a stable electricity supply during periods of high demand on working days. We recognise the inconvenience this causes and remain committed to ensuring a reliable electricity supply. While there has been a slight improvement in unplanned outages since yesterday, the power system remains constrained. Our teams continue working with determination and professionalism to enhance grid stability, supported by ongoing structural improvements across the generation fleet. Notably, loadshedding incidents have declined compared to previous years. Eskom will continue to monitor the power system and provide updates should any changes arise.

Operators still need to attend to faults at 2️⃣Houtkoppen – Inadan Distributor (affecting parts of Kya Sand and Northriding AH) 3️⃣Beyers Naudé Substation – Gayfield Distributor (affecting parts of Boskruin and Randpark Ridge) once work at Northriding Substation is completed.
