@CoachPaulBrake @MikeWingerii Just for anyone reading, this is not particularly good advice, and certainly not broadly applicable. Methods of exercise and diet are hugely goal dependent. Cardio and plants are good for you, and carbs are not poison.

Cardio is actually bad for you. Lift weights 3 days a week, never twice in a row. Work each muscle group once per week. Train 4 exercises per muscle, of ONE set, of 8 to 15 reps to Failure. Failure is when the muscle will no longer move the weight. Prioritize protein, 1.5 - 2 grams per pound of bodyweight. Animal protein. Get your energy from saturated fats. Do NOT eat carbs or any plants.

Back in the gym. Trying to do this 4-5 times a week and so far so good. Lift weights. Do cardio. Do it again tomorrow.

Is it just me, or has antisemitism become way, way too normalized on this platform?

@Brahmanpathway @hecubian_devil @BluntThiefWhore @Wake_upWA Rewards hard work?? You can't legitimately believe that a CEO who makes $10 million a year works 300-400x harder than their lowest paid employee? It rewards generational wealth, shrinkflation, race-to-the-bottom economic thinking and shareholder profits, nothing more.

@hecubian_devil Because the price of a burger is tied to the price of the labor used to produce it. People want fast food burgers, but simply will not pay $20 for them. Therefore, the labor required for the produce does not and can not demand a high wage.

@thejohnpaulhyde @hecubian_devil I'm the vast majority of cases being an amazing barista is only slightly more valuable than being a pretty good one. Hence, a low career ceiling.

@hecubian_devil For some reason people don’t grasp that being a barista is a particular set of knowledge and skills. I blame Starbucks, it made coffee shops into fast food places for grunt workers.

You have no idea how good AI generated content is becoming for those skilled with generating AI content. Unless something drastically legal happens, the majority of what you will see for the rest of your life will largely be AI. The art, the music, the YouTube videos, the photos The people you will see, the people you will talk to, the people you will video call… All AI.

Can we admit that elected democrats and republicans both look out first and foremost for their own friends, their own interests, and their own reputations? The Hunter pardon is far, far from the most egregious example. This is what American politics is.

@rhadamant_nemes @ZeroManO5 @peterrhague Every story can be broken down that way. It's a dishonest way to engage with narrative. The beauty is found largely in the way the journey unfolds, not in the novelty of the premise.

@ZeroManO5 @peterrhague Those were secondary plot points. The story is: Shiny thing is powerful. If bad guys get shiny thing then bad guys win. Good guys win if shiny thing thrown in lava. Good guys won.

The thing everyone liked about Boromir is how he was completely and unambiguously good at all times. People also liked the simplicity of Gollum who was never torn between good and evil at all.

@corgocat @TheRealLoDown @VivekGRamaswamy When the average church employees salary is well beyond that of the average citizen, we should start to question how much of a "non-profit" they really are.

@TristanSnell Alternatively, more people voted for Trump than anyone else. Also, more people voted against Kamala Harris than voted for her. What exactly is your point?

It’s now official — in the 2024 election, more people voted against Donald Trump than voted for him.

@atrupar This is such a blatant and intentional misread of people's intentions. The average Trump voter was motivated by exactly what you spoke to in the first place - A better life for your family and the future of your community. The rest is you reading your biases onto others.

I think one of the most difficult reckonings of this election is that the incentives we thought inspired voting choices -- a better life for your family and future for your community -- may not be as decisive as the desire to dominate and inflict cruelty on outgroups. Explanations that don't grapple with this point generally read to me like liberal wishcasting.

@kurtos Not to belabor the point, but the 80% figure is hyper inflated. Twitter was never worth what Elon paid for it, not even close, which he himself has admitted.

@stucam7771 I think a lot of measures the Democrats have proposed to help the working class are perceived by many to be bandaid solutions to deeper problems. Sure, 25k might help someone buy a house, but it does little to solve the real problems at hand. Why are houses so expensive?

Do I get this right? The Democrats 'lost the working class' because they'll help you buy a house, have a child or start a business. But the Republicans haven't because they'll wreck Social Security and Medicare, give billionaires tax breaks and smash unions...

@DaneMiodov @Disney Best of both worlds for them. Cash in on the recognizable IP while avoiding having to come up with anything new. Slap a progressive label on it to avoid bad press, and it's basically a money printer. What baffles me is that people keep paying to see these things.

I don’t get it. Why does ⁦@Disney⁩ insist on remaking past movies in live-action that have nothing to do with the plot of the original? Why not rather make a truly original movie with a strong female protagonist who rises to be the leader she was intended to be? Why?
