Aerith got friend zoned by Cloud and some people still think its romantic. Strange. Aerith is in the lifestream with her lover Zack, so Aerith still gets her hero and lover in the end. It makes me happy.

@GutoTweeta The same thing. #Cloud sees #Aerith as a friend/Nakama and does things for her because she is his friend. Aerith accepts his rejection and tells him she doesn't know how she feels about him in the end in Japanese. She basically says the same thing in English, like vs "liking"

@GutoTweeta Gets friend zoned in all scenarios so in all games yes. Not sure what you mean by my game, because in all endings of Rebirth Cloud still says in Japanese: He does things for Aerith because she is his friend/Nakama. Truth hurts High affection Aerith or Tifa, or low, doesn't matter

@pxstboy The tweet isn’t saying that a prequel is irrelevant to FF7’s story though, it just says that a prequel doesn’t really impact Cloud and Aerith’s relationship since the events took place before they ever met.

If connecting with the story means having to ignore everything outside of Disc 1, then I think I’m good.

Platonic Cloud & Aerith is such a beautiful dynamic, an important & impactful friendship— but apparently the world still ain’t ready for that conversation 😭 their bond isn’t devalued by the simple truth of it being platonic. They still have a wonderful, unique connection

@sephisnubecita They’re not love interests because there is no love interest on their part, but Aerith does have a love interest in Cloud. But despite everything you said, Tifa and Cloud are always labeled as “childhood friends” or “family of friends”, the debate is deliberately left open

@GutoTweeta The player is able to spend more time w/ someone depending on their choices, but that’s it. Cloud can even go on GS “date” with Barret or Nanaki. Doesn’t make them love interests. He kisses only Tifa. Sleeps w/ Tifa. Lives w/ her. Adopts kids with her. He did none of that w/ Aer

@sephisnubecita She doesn’t cry over Zack, she acknowledges Cloud isn’t Zack and says she’s interested in him now. And so what that Marlene is a child? She warns Zack about Sephiroth too, but he doesn’t just dismiss her as being a dumb child. The writers clearly give her knowledge importance

@sephisnubecita To me it was really clear from their conversation in Gongaga, to the GS Date, to the dream date that, despite her initial intrigue being over their similarities, she begins to like Cloud. Her actions make it clear enough, but also Marlene confirms she likes him, and OTWTAS too.

@GutoTweeta She doesn’t! She walked us through her feelings on the dream “date” and determined she doesn’t know what she feels for Cloud. This is telling the audience she does NOT have romantic feelings for him, bc we know Aerith knows what love feels like, and it’s an undeniable feeling
