1.78261 x 60.5 =107.848

...except it isn't.
If that kid throws from 60ft he's not reaching 107. The velocity will go down as you get closer to home. That's why short-distance pulldown velos are always higher. Velo won't be the same

70 coaches voting for the format!??? Needs to change.
DC tournament used to be one of the most prestigious events. Sad to see the integrity go away.

Excited to release the 2025 Diamond Classic Bracket. Games in first round must be complete by Thursday. 2nd Round is Saturday with the Quarters and Semis be completed on May 10th. Championship is Tuesday the 13th.

The last 4 years there has been a different format with it increasingly getting worse.

@Guy_Lynam Totally agree. Remembering back (forgetting what the seeds were) the semi’s were GC & West (both high seeds) and on opposite side was Delsea vs (i forget) def seemed like the top teams didn’t face off till later in tourney like it should be. This is not set up that way.

@JYoung856Ball They also didn’t play the quarterfinal and semi final in the same day with the champ game 3 days later. Which besides the bracket is another not to sharp decision.
The DC is supposed to showcase the best of South Jersey baseball. This senario is geared towards the worst.

@JYoung856Ball Nope. Normal tournament format. As much as people weren’t happy w 32 teams entered it actually worked out well in a normal tournament format.
This year it’s almost like they said how could we mess this up the most. I would have loved to hear the thought process.

@Guy_Lynam Who designs a bracket that has 1 vs 2 in the QF? This is like Hogan vs Andre in the QF of Wrestlemania 4 ....... also in South Jersey. Coincidence? I dont think so.

@BKincaid15 No doubt. Extremely sad to see. We have all done a great job with south Jersey baseball and for something like this to happen is disheartening.

tournament was great.
I’ve been a part of probably 1000 (give or take) baseball tournaments and this is honestly the worst I’ve ever seen a bracket put together.

I was asked my opinion on this:
Honestly, not a fan.
Feels like too much reinventing the wheel.
Don't see a reason why it can't be seeded 1-32 like any other bracket with those teams. (32 is too much for my taste anyway).
Also, yeah, quarters/semis in same day is a BIG mistake.
