when my 4-year-old’s daycare held a “lunch with mom” event, every single mom showed up. we all have other jobs, which is why our kids are in daycare. but we took off work or found a way to get there in the middle of the day. now, they’re doing an event for the dads … at 6:30 in the evening. it’s a small example, but the double standards are real.

IF the United States leaves NATO and Ukraine joins in its place, that would suit me just fine. Because if we consider the common claim that “Ukraine is fighting with one hand tied behind its back,” then it was the United States — even back in Biden’s time — that helped create that situation. I consider Europe, in the context of the current war, to be more decisive and strong-willed. There are many reasons for that, which I won’t list here to save space. If it’s no longer called NATO but a new alliance — no problem. And of course, there should be no Orbáns in it. There are plenty of foundations for a new military alliance. There’s the mutual defense clause in the EU charter (not the best option due to figures like Orbán and Fico). There could be a “coalition of the willing” — a great option, already including Ukraine. And what I especially like is the JEF coalition. It already includes ten countries — the UK, us (the Baltic states), and all the Nordic countries. Ukraine and Canada have already applied to join JEF. If Germany, Poland, France, and Italy join as well, it would be an ideal structure — one that could act much more decisively and quickly than the cumbersome NATO burdened by unnecessary actors like Orbán. I also like the idea of creating a unified European army. Overall, talk of the U.S. leaving NATO actually pleases me. Because it opens up new opportunities and full freedom of action.
