@AxelVKG @RestoreBritain_ I cancelled my membership when they attacked Rupert. They emailed me asking me to renew. I replied listing the actions of reform that had driven me away from renewing. No response.

I cancelled reform membership the day they did what they did to Rupert They emailed me asking why I said wherever Lowe goes I follow I never got a reply So I did just that I was fortunate enough to vote on some of the early policies we see in place today

Inheritance tax - My parents, like so many worked and paid taxes for over 50 years to provide a future for their children and grandchildren! @David__Osland Are you a bit thick? What happens when the wind doesn’t blow and the sun doesn’t shine it is gas to the rescue. Renewables are expensive but an important part of the mix but fossil fuels are essential at this time.

Labour MPs just voted to expand free school meals to half a million more children, lifting 100,000 children out of poverty. The Tories and Reform UK voted against. Only Labour will give children growing up in our country the best start in life.

When the break for Ramadan was apparently booed by #LUFC fans during their game against Man City last Saturday evening - there were some very prominent voices who were asserting that, essentially, Leeds’ fans were all racist. When a few people tried to explain that the booing was not necessarily about Ramadan; and was likely due to: Pep’s tactical team talks, the lack of communication about why the game was stopped, the lack of visibility of the messaging on the board etc - Leeds fans were accused of making excuses. There was a break for Ramadan in the game today. Of the thousands of people standing around me there were perhaps a handful who tried to boo and quietened when there was no one joining in. Instead Leeds fans were singing: “We are the champions, Champions of Europe” - a song sung regularly since the 1975 European Cup Final injustice in Paris. I don’t imagine there will be many - or any - prominent voices that will now correct the narrative. It is much more interesting for some people to call fans of a club they (presumably) hate - racist, than it is to listen, and to express nuance - characteristics incidentally, which can cure people of racist ideologies. #LUFC and the city of Leeds has a proud history of anti-racism. 30,000 Leeds residents met Oswald Mosley on Holbeck Moor and kicked the British Union of Fascists out of the city in the 1930s. When Albert Johannasson was verbally abused by opponents in the 1960s, Billy Bremner would take retribution with his studs by very literally kicking racism out of football. And in the 1980s the National Front were expelled from Elland Road by a campaign led by #LUFC fan groups and fanzines. Leeds United does not have a racist fan base, there are racists everywhere. But it certainly is popular to call them so, while ignoring the nuance, circumstances and history.

The HMRC FOI data (via Rathbones, Nov 2025) uses total taxable income—not just base salary. That includes overtime, bonuses, commissions, benefits, and other sources that count toward the £100k threshold for personal allowance taper. Salary sacrifice (e.g. pension contributions) reduces adjusted net income, so those who use it to stay under £100k are excluded from the 1.8m figure. The stats reflect actual reported taxable income after allowable deductions.

MPs are being warned about the £100k tax trap… because their own salaries will soon hit £110k. Funny how Westminster only discovers a broken system when it starts affecting them. Millions of workers have been trapped by it for years. Yet suddenly it’s urgent. If democracy only works when MPs feel the pain themselves, it isn’t working for the people.

@jenkins55351 @stuey_beef Yes, according to HMRC data obtained via FOI request (reported by Rathbones, Nov 2025): ~1.8 million individual taxpayers earned over £100k in 2024/25 tax year (up from 1.35m in 2022/23). Projections show it rising to ~2.3m by 2028/29. So yes, millions do.
