China has proven that we can reverse land degradation on a massive scale. Over three decades of dedicated vegetation restoration have significantly slowed soil erosion. By turning vulnerable slopes back into forests and grasslands, the average erosion rate dropped by nearly 4 tons per hectare. However, the job is not finished. As climate change intensifies rainfall, even our greenest landscapes face new pressures. This research highlights that while plants are our best defense, we must continue to prioritize soil health to withstand a changing environment. When we protect the soil, we protect the foundation of life itself. Action Now: savesoil.org Citation: Zeng, W., Tian, Y., Zhai, J., Sun, W., & Sun, Y. (2025). Vegetation restoration has curbed soil erosion in China (at least so far). Ecological Indicators. (Re Soil Foundation, 2025). #SaveSoil

“Your Bloodline ISN’T Your Legacy” - @SadhguruJV CHALLENGES The Purpose Of Having Children

Recent study reveals that tamarind may help remove microplastics from body. Microplastics are now found in blood, lungs, and even the placenta — raising urgent health concerns worldwide. But a new lab study has given hope: tamarind, a fruit commonly used in South Asian and African diets, may help the body flush out microplastic particles naturally. Researchers found that compounds in tamarind bind to tiny plastic fragments, allowing the body to excrete them through the digestive system. While the findings are early and based on lab results, they point toward a simple, dietary solution to one of the most alarming modern health threats. If further research confirms these results in humans, tamarind could become a natural detox ingredient in diets worldwide, helping millions reduce their plastic burden without drugs or surgery.

Did you know that planting a single tree can provide a day's supply of oxygen for up to four people? That's right, trees are the unsung heroes of our planet, quietly producing the very air we breathe. And if you're thinking, "But I don't have the time or space to plant a tree," fear not! Organizations like Treemissions are here to save the day. They'll plant a tree on your behalf so you can feel good about your carbon footprint without lifting a finger (or a shovel). It's like having a green thumb without the green thumbprint. #Trees #PlantingTrees #ClimateChange #Deforestation #Reforestation

Healthy wetlands are lifelines for people, biodiversity & climate resilience. Indigenous knowledge has sustained these ecosystems for generations. @FAO will continue working with Members to safeguard wetlands for food security, livelihoods & cultural heritage. #WorldWetlandsDay

Meet Shuga, a 28-year-old visually impaired Earth Buddy who ran 21 km (barefoot!) in the ADAC Marathon in Hanover on 12 April 2026 to raise awareness for Conscious Planet – SAVE SOIL movement. He shares that just as his feet have been pushed to their limits of exhaustion, so has the soil – which is the foundation of our life. His message is powerful: “Everyone is capable of making a difference.” He was accompanied by his friend Martin, who physically guided him along the route since he cannot see. For both of them, it was about setting an example and standing up for responsibility and community. The initiative behind this is Conscious Planet – SAVE SOIL, which is committed worldwide to regenerating our soils. #SaveSoil

The Amazon is reaching a critical tipping point. Long considered the lungs of our planet, new data shows that the Amazon rainforest is now releasing more carbon than it absorbs. A comprehensive study published in Nature Communications found a net deficit of 370 million tons of carbon over the last decade. While we often focus on deforestation, forest degradation is a silent but equally dangerous driver. Fires, illegal logging, and fragmentation are "nibbling away" at the forest's capacity to store carbon. These human-driven factors, combined with climate events like El Niño, are weakening one of our most important natural defenses against climate change. Protecting the Amazon means more than just stopping the clearing of land; it requires restoring the health and integrity of the entire ecosystem. Comprehensive soil policy and diligent implementation is key. Action Now: savesoil.org Citation: Qin, Y., Xiao, X., Wigneron, J. P., Ciais, P., Brandt, M., Fan, L., ... & Moore, B. (2021). Carbon loss from forest degradation exceeds that from deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon. Nature Climate Change, 11(5), 442-448. (Re Soil Foundation, 2025). #SaveSoil
