@___TheGOOdWitch It took Constantine's hired editors to invent the whole "New Testament" stories and characters. They borrowed myths and ideas from elsewhere, threw it all into a blender and published the results as the official religion you followed or were killed, an obedience class for slaves.

@RadDawg2 @MrRonBlackwell @gwowls @grok How was fear instilled to effect the decision? Show your proof. You can’t just say than is what I think so it must be true. Show historical evidence.

I'd say banishing dissenters and instilling so much fear that others voted a certain way is definitely involvement in the conclusions. Seems pretty straightforward to me. In any case the existence of such heated debate completely refutes any possible claim that this or other creeds are simple statements of clear biblical teachings.

Today I'm officially leaving the LDS Church. I just heard for the very first time about this super niche bible verse in Galatians that actually disproves the whole religion! I'd never even heard of "the bible" before. Glad we got that figured out. Anyway, see you at mass!

I don’t remember Jesus mentioning to the apostles or anyone else that if you follow the LDS church doctrines you get to be god over your own planet with your wife and family. As a matter of fact I believe he said “in heaven you will neither marry nor be given in marriage but be “like the angels” in heaven”. Of course I do not have the Greek in front of me but that is basically it from memory.

@RadDawg2 @MrRonBlackwell @gwowls @grok As you see from groks response it is as I said. The bishops came to as close a unanimous decision on the foundation of Christian doctrine. Constantine called the council but did not participate in its debates or conclusions.

@RadDawg2 @GvdMerwede @MrRonBlackwell @gwowls You're welcome! The council's creed reflected the bishops' broad consensus on longstanding apostolic teachings against Arianism, with Constantine's role limited to calling the gathering for imperial unity and later enforcing its outcome through civil authority.

Emperor Constantine did not shape or get involved in any debates or findings of the Council of Nicaea. He called the council of over 200 bishops to settle a new heresy that had arisen called Arianism. The bishops came up with the Nicene Creed based on exactly what had been passed down through apostolic succession. The Nicene Creed was not new, it solidified what had been taught by the early church since the 1st century. The Arian Heresy arose through Arius of Alexandria in the late 3rd and early 4th century which challenged the teachings of the apostles and the early church concerning the deity of Jesus.

Galatians 1:8 warns against any other gospel than what Christ and His apostles taught, yet the Nicene Creed of 325 AD—shaped by Emperor Constantine and Greek philosophy—introduced the Trinity as three persons in one mysterious substance, replacing the simple, relational teachings of Jesus and His disciples about the Godhead as separate, glorified beings. This is exactly what the warning was talking about. Joseph Smith restored the teachings of Jesus Christ.

@GodlessEngineer Simple, it is in the Tanakh and Jesus affirmed he wasn’t here to abolish the law (Old Testament) but to fulfill it. He affirmed what was written in the Tanakh.

Jesus had a lot to say. Love your enemies. Sell your possessions. Do not judge. Feed the poor. He talked about money more than almost anything else. You know what he never once mentioned? Homosexuality. Not a single word in any of the four gospels. Even Christian scholars admi…

I just got off the phone with President Trump We discussed the Pentagon’s “Christian list” I won’t speak for him, but I’m thrilled about where this is heading We’re most fortunate that President Trump (1) loves Latter-day Saints, and (2) is our commander in chief Stay tuned

@BasedMikeLee That being said I do not think the US Government should be involved in classifying religions at all. That is not the business of government.

Mike, with all due respect, putting the name Jesus Christ in the Church name and literature does not make it a Christian Church. The problem is that Joseph Smith changed the very nature of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is not a created being, He was begotten of the Father not “made”. The apostle John said “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word with God and the Word was God. He later goes on to say “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us”. That Word IS Jesus of Nazareth. Also taught by Later Day Saints is that Jesus and Lucifer are brothers. Jesus was the ONLY begotten Son of God. These are very serious heresies in Mormonism. I have friends that are embers of the LDS Church. they are loving wonderful people who are very family oriented. They are however, deceived as to the true nature of Jesus.

To be Christian one would have to believe all points in the Nicene Creed. There are still a few on that list that shouldn’t be there. I believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic (universal) and apostolic Church.
I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come.

@iamAtheistGirl Yes, Jesus was Jewish. But as far as what he taught you have no idea or understanding. You do not understand either Jewish atonement or the redemption Jesus taught so you have little to contribute to that conversation.

@KennyEdw @EliAfriatISR Palestine was the name the Romans called it in order to insult the Jews. It came from the word Philistine who were ancient enemies of the Jews. It was Canaan for awhile before it became Israel but it was Israel for thousands of years before the Jews were dragged off as slaves
