@PaulTassi Switch it to a 5v5 Moba Lite with a few towers and minions and jungle mobs.
The game just feels so unbelievably empty and unfortunately, dull.
90% of the combat takes place at a base with the other 10% being at the sword, where after a teamwipe, sword is already rushed to base

Ah I can already see this is going to be my alleged “you were shocked people didn’t like Highguard” post. This is a more general thing with this being the most recent example
As for Highguard, nnnnot feeling great about it. But again, will give it some more time before a verdict

It's unique, it's definitely for a niche audience... but yeah, it's way too much without an identity...
Raid Shooter? No. FPS Moba Lite? Yes.

That said, big swing and a potentially hard sell for a concept like this. I guess it's most similar to a MOBA, but even then. People are really gonna need to fall in love with it.

Highguard gets immediate points for not being an arena shooter, BR or extraction shooter. The raid idea is interesting. I love the horse!

@PaulTassi Free Updates, rewards your time, a buildcrafting system that is just... insane. Always something to chase. I switch between WF and D2 but something about WF just hits the spot when you see numbers go brrrr...

Not to be a downer, but I do want to note my forecast of ~3x the players of the lead-up to Renegades is almost exactly what the peak ended up being, 23,000 to 71,000.
That's almost 40K under Edge of Fate, though it's being received much better

Should an entire 6 month expansion be dedicated to a 3rd party IP for a crossover? Probably not.
If Renegades suffers worse than EoF and then Marathon struggles at launch? I worry for Bungie...

I feel like this is a coinflip of whether it peaks higher than Edge of Fate or not. Given the sentiment the last six months, I'd guess no. I don't think Star Wars is enough. It actually could turn some *off*

@Gothalion Seeing this... hurts... I just dropped 120 hours in the game for Nighthaven after coming back and I just wanna say, any devs seeing this, you did a FANTASTIC JOB and brought an incredible experience, it did not go to waste. My (and I am sure others) time have been well spent ❤️

@PaulTassi I've dropped 120 hours in the game since the Nighthaven expansion launch and was THOROUGHLY enjoying my time being back in Aeternum... This just killed my mood to play entirely. No point if the game (and all my progress) potentially disappears at the end of 2026...
