I don’t get out much these days, but I’m always happy catching up with people on stream/at events. Thanks for hanging with me all these years.

@amr_maadawy Maybe decrease the game overall damage down so both players are forced to interact more / more chance to guess before dying?

SF6 would be a ten times better fighting game if blocking wasn't the worst defensive option.
Maybe reduce the drive chip damage by 70% or so and we would have a much more interesting game.

I want to be very clear & detailed about my stance on Ken.
Ken, like every character in this game, is still deadly.
He can absolutely win in a FT2 / FT3 environment, and he still possesses strong tools such as DR LP, excellent corner carry, & solid neutral buttons for whiff punishing & footsies.
In my opinion, Ken is a good character in his current state.
However, the “great” tier characters right now consists of: Ed, Mai, JP, and others in that range.
What I’m pointing out are objective weaknesses within the current meta.
Winning with Ken is very possible, but it requires hard work, sound neutral, & sometimes favorable guess situations.
These views are not mine alone.
They come from extensive conversations with many of the world’s strongest players, and top Ken specialists such as: AB, Booce, Phenom, Tokido, NotPedro, Ryukichi, Cosa, Orarin, Uriel, and others.
Most importantly, I want Ken players to continue having fun, and believe in themselves.
As we saw this past weekend, Ken is still capable of reaching the biggest stages. Enjoying the character you play is a huge part of success.
That said, if a player’s primary goal is maximizing tournament win probability, choosing from the current S-tier cast is the more optimal route.
I’m always open to expanding on these thoughts for clarity.

I am sharing the same feelings as Ryukichi after playing this week. 1.) The “buffs” for Ken are simply not practical enough in a real match. I’ve yet to find a situation, other than a Shimmy or DP punish for me to use the OD-Jinrai > DP combo. 2.) His 5MK cancel into Super is only reliable with SA1/2, SA3 will whiff sometimes. 3.) 2HP > H-Jinrai is a good buff, and practical for Ken’s pressure game. 4.) SA2 extra damage is nice for Punish Counter, but once again, must be a precise situation of -6 on block. Overall I feel like Ken’s in the same spot as last season, other characters seem to have gotten very practical buffs, meanwhile Ken continues to not receive buffs in the area of his gameplay that needs it the most. - Plus Button - Useful Special Moves in neutral - Damage - 2LK > 5LP To Combo reliably. - punishable buttons on block (MK & HK) I repeat: - Air Ex Tatsu is the definition of useless, and has been for 2 years now, the move itself feels deleted & glitchy lol - Dragon Lash is slow, not practical in most scenarios, easily countered with PP or a button, even crouching attacks will counter it, defeating the sole purpose of him flying off the ground. - Weak FB’s. & more. These are my thoughts for now.

I'm very happy to have overcome some barriers that I thought were impossible to overcome and didn't know how to move forward. Ten weeks ago, I won my first TNS, and now I've won two in a row. I have to keep improving because this is just an online tournament, and I want more, but I'm happy that little by little, my progress and effort are paying off. 🔥🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺

I'm glad that lately I've been consistently in the top 8 but I haven't been able to stand out. I need to do something soon and I'm too far out of 7-5-4. I need those top 3 minimum or win but I know I'll get there.

@amr_maadawy Imo I think Ken's still is better for ex. St.hp -> m.jinrai is still true string and a big burst dmg to drive, his od has a high/low that leads to big dmg, combo utility/flexible and if spaced right some dp can't even punish his stupid move.

@Yung_matt_teen I'd say he's a solid choice in both ranked and tournaments thanks to his dmg output alone and his mix ups are v rewarding without commiting much.
