@writingwithgia I heard that Amazon redid their categories recently to streamline things. Honestly, it is hard to decide which ones work best for your flavor of fiction these days.

When querying, does anyone else find all these fiction categories confusing? There's commercial, upmarket and literary; genres, sub-genres, and super-genres; Young Adult, New Adult, and Adult. Let's not forget... crossovers. Or is it just me?

Taco Cat passed away last night. She was a good little cat, and I know she's somewhere happily watching birds. Going to put her in the garden next to the hazelnut tree. But this is going to be a sad week getting used to not hearing that little chirp in the morning.

@jeffreyjhoy The South Pole! That is pretty neat! Ah, my sympathies on your Greenland cruise. I heard about that. I'm glad you got some enjoyment out of Paladin's Honor. The sequel is basically a fantasy cop/detective story investigating a serious crime that involves Devon and Mirabelle.

@Gyrefalcon I read Paladin’s Honor on the Carnival Legend two weeks ago. Not what I usually read, but very entertaining. (I ran out of reading material!) Our cruise to Greenland was cancelled. 😢 Bad weather. I also leave my novels hither and yon. I even sent one to the South Pole!

@LKmorgan_x Outdoors, if you can see the morning sun and face it, North will be to your left, South to your right, and West right behind you. Can't help you with being inside an Ikea. Take a map for that place. ;)

One thing that always amazes me & makes me sadly realise I wouldn't last very long in a fantasy novel, is how the characters always know where to head, north, east, while in the middle of nowhere, & no road signs. I can't even make it around Ikea without getting lost 🤷🏼‍♀️#fantasy

I get a lot of spam comments on my blog, but the one that attracts the most is my review of the South Korean movie Train to Busan, and it comes in waves. Not just one or two a week, but a good dozen, sometimes all at once. Do you have a blog post that attracts a lot of spam?

@GhostKasu Ghostwriters who are getting paid? It's up to them and the person/company they are writing for. Some appreciate the check but wouldn't want to be associated directly with the work. AI? No, it isn't copyrightable.

@Sarcastic_elf I usually continue the series that got me to like them. Then I will see if I like the other things they write, not every series hits the same way.

When you discover a new author you like, do you have to read everything they've ever written?

@patricksamphire It's not bad to have "a" misunderstanding. When it's something that can be resolved in 5 minutes of talking and they've had multiple scenes where they could resolve it, then it gets teeth-clenchingly bad.
