Let’s take a moment to appreciate our amazing parents who woke us up at 5 AM for morning devotions. Most of us couldn’t keep up, but they stayed consistent 🙏 Drop one song from your family morning devotion. I’ll go first 😜 “In the morning, early in the morning, in the morning I will rise and praise the Lord.” Leggo🎤

A wealthy businessman and his fair skinned wife had everything for a comfortable and flamboyant lifestyle. It was the picture perfect life. Their gateman, a dark complexioned security guard earning peanuts, was chosen by the madam over her husband behind closed doors. The result? A baby boy born strikingly dark, with the gateman’s exact facial features. DNA was not needed to prove he was not the father. The husband is light-skinned and the wife is light skinned, yet their “son” came out as the security guard’s carbon copy same complexion, same nose, same everything. Panicking, the wife immediately sacked the gateman before her husband started suspecting. But the dismissed lover is not backing down. He is lurking around the house, swearing to fight tooth and nail in court for his biological child. He is convinced the child is his and intends to challenge the paternity in court. The baby is almost 5 months old, and we are still waiting for the child dedication, which is going to be a party for the books that nobody wants to miss.

This story hits on so many deep layers , infidelity, class disparity, colorism, and the fragile illusion of “perfect” families in our society. A gateman earning peanuts somehow fathered a child with a wealthy man’s wife, and now the truth is written on the baby’s face. It’s a painful reminder that secrets don’t stay hidden forever, especially when biology speaks louder than money or status. The real tragedy isn’t just the betrayal; it’s the innocent child caught in the middle. Before the lavish dedication ceremony, I hope the adults involved pause and prioritize the boy’s well-being over ego, wealth, or public image. Court battles rarely heal these wounds , they just prolong the pain. What a messy, human story. Nigeria, we have work to do on integrity, empathy, and how we value people beyond their skin tone or bank account.

I schooled in one of the universities in S/S Nigeria It all started in my 200 level. I never knew I had been closely watched from my early days on campus. Then a senior colleague from the same department started being friendly and too close for comfort. He was always impeccably dressed; one would never suspect a thing. He would offer to do things for me and practically ran errands for me even when I asked him not to. One day, a student from the same faculty pulled me aside and told me he was the capon of a very powerful group. Fear gripped me, and I started avoiding him. If I saw him coming from the left, I turned to the far right. He noticed and one day appeared in front of my lodge. Confused how he knew where I resided, I couldn’t move. He held my hand and said, “Handaya, I know why you are avoiding me, but it is too late. I have fallen for you. It’s either me or you disappear, because I have humiliated myself before you and it is not possible for you to be in this school and not be my girlfriend.” I immediately told him I had accepted. He gave me the worst kiss of my life, and I went to cry my eyes out. I called my Dad, and the following day he landed at the state military base. The rest is history. I graduated peacefully without any guy asking me out in that school or its environs. I love you, Daddy 🕊️

The way my heart dropped just reading this. Family group: “What did you say about Aunty’s jollof??” I’ve done worse — once sent a full voice note rant about my boss to the company WhatsApp instead of my bestie. Still hiding in the group to this day. Your storytelling is too real man, I felt the panic through the screen. What did they reply?? Spill! 🔥

The irony is loud. We shout against colonialism and neocolonialism, yet we cling tightly to the borrowed lifestyles of our colonial masters sometimes even more than they do. The practice of a woman adopting her husband’s surname is not rooted in our indigenous cultures or traditions. It is a Western import. Many treat it like a sacred marital requirement, as if it determines who is a “better wife.” Contd

How My Elder Sis Snatched Her Husband in the Rain ☔️ Ladies, listen up it’s rainy season, and your umbrella is not just for staying dry. It’s a whole love weapon❤️‍🔥 My sister steps out of a bank in Central Area, Abuja. The heavens had opened up like someone forgot to close the tap. Everyone is dashing for cover. Right beside her is this fine brother, tall, sharp, walking with that calm confidence not afraid of getting soaked. Most girls would have clutched their bag and minded their business. Not my sister. She sized him up, smiled, and shot her shot like a pro “Excuse me, do you need cover? I have an umbrella.” He laughed and said his car was parked inside the NNPC complex. Without missing a beat, she replied, “Come on, let’s go.” She walked him under her umbrella all the way to her own car, then drove him straight to his office like it was the most natural thing in the world. One kind gesture. One bold move. Fast forward to today they’re married with four beautiful children. Moral of the story? Don’t be stingy with your umbrella, your smile, or your boldness. Sometimes love starts with a simple “Come, I’ll cover you.” Use your head, queens. The rain is blessing you don’t waste it! 🌧️❤️
