Can you actually write off a wakeboat as a farm expense? Can you say you were using it to check dugouts or testing water?

@buperac I think they could re-rent it this spring or farm themselves and the contract would not be binding. Better yet, they let Monettee seed it and spray and then seize it back for non payment.

@mjjahnke10 @buperac Buyer would be smart to walk & buy it back from the bank for a lower price. Money is harder to borrow now which will lower land & rent prices given the amount Monette land that needs to sell & re-rent. There will be other farms where covenants are breached & forced to deleverage.

Remember when Monette ran 2 different land auctions to raise capital with a March 1 deadline and then extended with a April 1 deadline? It was odd that it was done so quickly, rather than done strategically at the end of last harvest if they actually wanted to sell land....... anyway the auction notably sold 3 different sectors of land. @buperac It makes no sense how a Farm or any business could borrow a billion in debt given: no real cash equity, no outside equity investors, Ag is historically low returns on assets, very risky, cyclical & where the BTO model is stacked against him (Broadacre/One Earth both failed).

@buperac The CCAA killed his ability to negotiate with buyers as a judge will decide. The banks will get their money back everyone else doubtful. The BC ranch is not currently saleable. It would be nice if Scotia lost $200 million for their stupidity. The only winners now are the lawyers

I have relaunched Agnonymous. If there are any questions or comments about the Monette CCAA that would be the place to ask. Tips, hints, insight, or updates and at the same time I will update the Monette Ledger. Even if it isn't related to Monette, there is lots of things happening in Agriculture, it usually turns out to be scammers and crooks like the Mann family. @buperac Many of his unsecured creditors appear to landlords he owes this year's land rent to. I assume they could take back the land and the rental contract would be voided because of CCAA filing. Probably the reason they filed this so late so the landlords would not be able to do this.

Created a map of every business Monette owes money to. Say what you want about Monette owing $905 million, but he never forged a single signature not even once to get the loans.

@buperac Think about it, Yellowstone Club would not give credit to a non-member, they would simply make him pay for his charges via a credit card. Clearly, he is a member if he is being granted credit by the club.

One of my favorite expenses from the Monette Ledger is the $1,297.07 owed to be in the Yellowstone Club, an exclusive Golf and Ski Club in Montana. To be part of the club you need to pay $60,000-$78,000 per year and buy a condo for around $6 million USD to a house worth $30 million USD. It’s purchases like this that make you wonder why he is going bankrupt.

@buperac You need to add the unsecured us &cdn which make it total $950,000,00. He must own a legal grow operation for his personal use as he must be on drugs to run a farm on 100% debt & no equity for a capital structure! Shame on the bank for overlending & distorting farm land values
