HBFD’s CAL OES Engine 416 continues battling the Sandy Fire in Ventura County as part of a CAL OES strike team. HBFD staffs the state owned Type 1 wildland engine alongside crews from across California. We are proud of our personnel deployed on this incident. #HBFD

OES Engine 416 deployed to Ventura County as part of OES Strike Team assigned to the Sandy Fire. CAL OES coordinates statewide mutual aid resources during major emergencies. HBFD firefighters staff and operate these state fire engines to assist communities across California.

INCIDENT NOTIFICATION Today HBFD crews responded to a working residential structure fire in the 5000 Mangrum Dr. Firefighters arrived to heavy fire showing and initiated an aggressive fire attack. No reported civilian injuries at this time. Cause under investigation. #HBFD

Sound Off with the Fire Safety Patrol HBFD’s Community Risk Reduction team wrapped up our first program at Hope View Elementary last week. Over 3 days, 79 third graders learned fire safety basics and showed a 70% improvement in knowledge. Building life saving habits early.

HazMat Training This weekend, HBFD HazMat trained at the Orange County Fire Authority Training Center on a stinger operation. This technique is used to safely remove hazardous liquids from damaged tankers by inserting a tube to transfer product into a secure container. #HBFD

Incident Alert HBFD is on scene of a working structure fire in the 17000 block of Nichols Ln. Crews are actively engaged in fire attack and containment while protecting nearby structures. Multiple resources on scene including engines, trucks, and command staff. #HBFD
