HBK Y7 Bronze Ties

Huge praise must go to all the students recognised as they continue to exemplify our school’s core values of Hard work, High standards and Kindness. All students were very gracious in celebrating with our winners, which was truly wonderful to see.

Subject prizes were awarded alongside some of our prestigious historic awards, including the Vesey, Grindrod,Fisher,Goswell & Wakelin awards. In addition, this year’s events were extra-special as we also celebrated the legacy of 50 years since our school move to its current site.

Last week saw the conclusion of our Legacy Award celebration events! Students from Y7-Y13 enjoyed celebration events to recognise our students’ outstanding achievements across this school year.

𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽? We’re looking at ways to recognise our students in next year’s celebration events, if you’re a parent, alumni,business person who wishes to find out further information on how you could help to support the recognition of our amazing students, get in touch.

For any student who is unable to go home at 1.20pm, we will supervise them until the normal end of the school day at 3.15pm.  Students who need to stay until 3.15pm should report to room 190 at 1.20pm.

We have contacted the bus companies & requested a 1.20pm collection but as yet we are awaiting confirmation we will let parents know as soon as we do, by sending another Parentmail.

𝗛𝗕𝗞 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲,𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝟭𝟵 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆. Temps in classrooms this afternoon has risen to an average of 31-32 degrees, & the temp in some classrooms is even higher.  This is in contrast to the temp in school this morning which, whilst hot, was more manageable. ☀️

With temperatures🌡️ set sore next week please help students beat the heat by keeping cool in the shade, drinking lots of water & wearing sun cream🧴to protect against high UV. ☀️

𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘀 𝗗𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗗𝗔𝗬! It’s going to be hot ☀️ Students should come into school wearing their PE Kits replacing PE socks 🧦 with shorter, thinner socks to aid keeping cool. Please send students in with a decent sized water bottle & sun cream.🧴

For the summer holidays, Cambs Council are continuing to work with Wonde (E-voucher) to provide vouchers for families whoreceive free school meals during term time. Eligibility remains the same in previous rounds. Each eligible pupil will receive two vouchers as follows:

Don't forget that we'll be finishing at 1.15pm next Thurs 21 June, as previously advertised. The final week, in terms of uniform, shapes up like this: Mon - PE kit for Diversity Day Tues and Wed - regular school uniform but no ties or blazers Thurs - non school uniform day

We will have additional water stations around the site, please encourage students to bring a large water bottle into school for the day, & a hat if they would like. Finally, we encourage students to wear sun cream, particularly on Monday.

All students are allowed to wear their PE kit to school on Monday in order to help them feel more comfortable in the high temperatures predicted. They do not have to wear PE socks but can instead wear thinner socks as part of our aim to combat the heat.

We will be continuing to allow students to not wear their school tie and blazer in school next week as the weather is going to stay warm. The temperatures are predicted to be particularly high on Monday, which is our ‘Diversity Day’, when the normal school timetable is collapsed.
