@LeeBraganza My son is called Louie. It's not unusual but I just love the sound and look of it. He has a Japanese middle name, since his dad is Japanese. If I had another boy or male pet, I'd call them Ansel! If my husband agreed...

Picking names for boys and they all suck. We've got tonnes of girl names but zero boys. Come on you lot, help me out. What's a top tier boy name?

@AskLyft My Lyft driver drove off with my pet cat still in the car. I was taking my cat to a vet appointment, I was sitting behind the driver and had the cat carrier on the floor of the passenger side back seat.

@knows_jill Have only met a handful of teachers who might vote conservative and they all worked in private schools. Vast majority of teachers are left wing, however long they have been teaching!

Personal observation: Every teacher I know that's been teaching 10 or more years votes conservative:(

Did anyone do an interpretation of The Rehearsal that looks at Nathan as a would-be God—minting new realities, making weather, raising a kid named...Adam?

@tommyhale91 My favourite recent kitchen discovery is that stove tops pop up for cleaning! All those years I was reaching down into the rings where the electric elements came out 🙄 - sorry, not picture available. I’d have to take it all apart, but let me know if needed ;)

Syntax matters & I love this example (borrowed from Justin Cronin). Two sentences. Same number of words & syllables. 1) Slowly I turned. 2) I turned slowly. Number 1 feels slower. Language & the order its written, creates time and a physiological effect on your reader.

Witnessed the most amazing thing on the train to Edinburgh yesterday. A guy boarded in Wigan & sat opposite me. He went to sleep for an hour. When he woke up he bought a sandwich, ate it & went back to sleep. (This isn’t a maths test, you don’t need to know the distance/speed).

@EmmaKennedy Ok so I’m five hours behind here in the US. Did my shopping this afternoon. Not too busy. But no cranberry sauce or parsnips. I’m very homesick for M&S. And I ended up buying a chicken from the posh butchers yesterday as they had already sold out of turkeys.
