New Webinar: Spatial Mapping of Kidney Development and Disease Mechanisms in Xenopus laevis How do genetic variants disrupt kidney development and contribute to congenital kidney diseases? Join us on April 1 at 8:00 AM PT / 10:00 AM CT for a webinar with @rkmille and Adrian Romero Mora from @UTHealthHouston to learn how the Miller Lab uses Xenopus laevis as a vertebrate model to study nephron development in the embryonic kidney. #withHCR, the team visualizes gene expression and maps transcripts to specific nephron segments, helping uncover the mechanisms behind kidney development and disease. We had a fantastic time at @neurocrine yesterday, connecting with the broader team and showcasing the latest HCR™ technology and its translational research applications. The session highlighted several exciting advances, including HCR™ Pro RNA-ISH workflows compatible with major autostaining platforms, along with our new fully ambient-temperature protocol; HCR™ Gold IF for multiplex protein detection, including simultaneous detection for same-species primary antibodies; and our latest capabilities for short-target detection. A big thank you to Robert Johnson for helping coordinate the event. We had a great time and look forward to continuing the conversation!

Uncovering Neurogenesis in the Gecko Brain 🧠 A recent study from Sara Jiménez Álvarez and her colleagues from @PhyloBrain brings high-resolution molecular readouts to a compelling non-model organism, the gecko Paroedura picta. Using #HCRtechnology, the team mapped gene expression in the embryonic gecko brain, enabling clear mRNA visualization in a system where species-specific antibody options can be limited. The researchers also paired HCR™ RNA-FISH with immunohistochemistry to connect RNA patterns with protein-level context during neurogenesis, expanding what’s possible in evolutionary and comparative neurobiology. Last week, we brought the HCR™ User Symposium to Boston and had the chance to connect with so many members of the HCR™ community in person. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so engaging! A special thank you to our speakers: Nipam Patel (Marine Biological Laboratory), Jong Gwan Lee (Harvard Medical School), David Brann (Harvard Medical School), Henry Bushnell (Harvard Medical School), Evan Ratzan (Boston Children's Hospital), Daniel Winkowski (Visiopharm), and Maciej Zerkowski (Indica Labs). Their expertise and thoughtful presentations made for a truly impactful program. The range of HCR™ applications was incredible, from whole-mount fruit fly, butterfly, and beetle embryos all the way to mouse and chicken tissue sections (and more!). We hope the conversations throughout the day sparked new ideas and collaborations that continue well beyond the symposium. Looking forward to keeping the momentum going and sharing more ways to connect soon!
