The Horry County Board of Education named James Kratzer the new principal at Loris Elementary School, beginning the 2026-2027 school year. Mr. Kratzer is currently the assistant principal at Loris Elementary School and will begin his new position on July 1, 2026.

Yalanda Bell has been named Chief of Staff for HCS. A veteran educational leader with 20+ years of experience, she is currently principal of The Promise Career Institute and previously was Exec. Dir. of Academic Programs in Fulton County Schools (GA). She begins her role 6/15.
