Last evening, Nights B Squad conducted traffic enforcement along 146th Street on March 19, 2026, from 7:00–9:00 PM. This corridor includes all five of the top crash locations in Hamilton County for the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, and the blitz was part of an ongoing effort to reduce crash numbers, slow traffic, and increase public awareness. During the detail, deputies conducted 13 traffic stops, issued 15 warnings, and 2 citations. During the operation, deputies heard the Westfield Police Department initiate a traffic stop and the suspect vehicle fled from them, the suspect vehicle was traveling in excess of 100 mph. Police units lost sight of the vehicle shortly after the pursuit began. Deputies in the area located the vehicle and attempted a stop, at which point the suspect vehicle fled. A deputy successfully deployed stop sticks at 146th and Dover, bringing the pursuit to an end as the vehicle drove over the center median curb and came to a stop near 146th and Hazel Dell Rd. The suspect, a juvenile male, was taken into custody without further incident. This incident is another example of how the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office works alongside our law enforcement partners to help keep the Hamilton County community safe.

We’ve been seeing a rise in scam attempts lately, and many of them sound and look very convincing. Here are a few that are popping up in our area right now—please take a minute to read and share with friends or family who might be at risk: • Grandparent Scam – Someone calls pretending a loved one is in trouble and needs money right away. They try to scare you and pressure you to act fast. Take a breath, hang up, and check with your family directly. • Fake Officer Calling – Scammers are pretending to be police officers, saying you’re in trouble or owe money. We will never call you to ask for payment over the phone. • “Job Opportunity” Scam – You get a message offering a great job, but they want personal information or bank details before you’re even hired. Real employers don’t do that—always double-check before sharing anything sensitive. • Jury Duty Scam – Someone claims you missed jury duty and need to pay a fine immediately. Courts don’t handle jury issues this way, and they won’t demand payment over the phone. • Toll Scam – Texts or emails saying you owe toll fees, usually with a link to click. Don’t click—go straight to the official toll service website to check your account. • License or Registration Scam – Messages claiming your license or registration is suspended or needs urgent renewal. Only trust official BMV/DMV websites for updates. 🔐 Remember the ABCs: ✔️ Accept Nothing right away ✔️ Believe Nothing without checking ✔️ Challenge Everything that seems off If you get a suspicious call or message, slow down, verify it on your own, and report it. When in doubt, contact your local police department using an official number. Stay alert, stay informed, and help spread the word. #ScamPrevention #ABCsOfScams #CommunitySafety See less
