In memory of Deputy Jimmie McKay: On March 22, 1974, Deputy Jimmie McKay was working an extra job when he was found shot in the head. His wife was also found shot to death in their car. After 26 years, two suspects were charged with the murders. Gone but never forgotten.

Traffic alert: IH-69 Eastex Fwy., HOV N/B at Crosstimbers, @houstonpolice and Metro police are working an auto pedestrian fatality in the HOV lanes of IH-69. The HOV lanes are shutdown. Traffic alert: IH-45 North Fwy northbound, after Airline, there is an auto-pedestrian fatality accident. All lanes are closed at this time and traffic is backed up. First responders are on scene. Arrest update to murder investigation that occurred on 12-26-25 at the 17300 block of Edsall Drive: The victim was identified as Michael Spivey (18). @HCSOTexas homicide detectives conducted the follow-up investigation and learned that Spivey had left his home on foot to meet someone outside his home, and returned soon after, accompanied by one or two other persons. Spivey was shot inside the home. On Saturday, 3/14/26, a 16-yr-old male was charged with murder for his alleged involvement in Spivey’s death. He was arrested by members of the Violent Criminals Apprehension Team (VCAT) and was booked into the juvenile detention center. Today, a second 16-yr-old male was charged with murder for his involvement in Spivey’s death. He too was arrested by VCAT and booked into thr juvenile detention center. #HouNews
