Summary of the Context Allah revealed this verse after Islam’s teachings, laws, and guidance had been completed. By that time: Tawheed (worshipping Allah alone) had been firmly established. Major acts of worship like prayer, fasting, zakah, and Hajj were already taught. Halal and haram matters had mostly been clarified. The Muslim community had become strong and organized. The verse was a declaration that: Islam was now complete and did not need additions or alterations. Allah had fully completed His favor upon the believers. Islam would remain the final and preserved religion until the Day of Judgment. Many scholars mention that when this verse was revealed, some companions felt both happiness and sadness: Happiness because Allah completed the religion. Sadness because they understood it also indicated that the mission and life of the Prophet Mohammed PBUH ﷺ were nearing completion. The verse emphasizes that guidance is complete through the Quran and the authentic teachings of the Prophet Mohammed UBUH ﷺ. 🥰❤️🥰
