The Parliamentary Secretary for the Cabinet Office has issued a statement today, 12 September 2024, in relation to the #ProcurementAct2023 commencement date. The statement advises that the government intends to make regulations to set a new date, 24 February 2025, for commencement of the Act. This pushes the 'go-live' date back by four months from the original planned date of 28 October 2024. The reasoning given in the statement for this delay is that: 'It is crucial that the new regime in the Procurement Act goes live with a bold and ambitious Statement that drives delivery of the Government's missions'. Further, the delay is intended to allow for a more seamless transition and effective implementation process for contracting authorities and suppliers. As legal adviser to @NCAlliance_NHS on the opening of its Salford Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC), in partnership with @InHealthGroup, it's brilliant to see a facility like this located at the very heart of the local community. The CDC, which is located in a retail park, aims to serve 20,000 patients each year by providing a range of diagnostic testing, including scanning (MRI, CT and Ultrasound) alongside heart and lung tests, and tele-dermatology. It is one of 160 clinics being opened across England to give patients access to tests and scans outside of hospital.
