It appears there is something wrong with the feed for this Sunday’s race. I have tried it on Roku, where it says “event starts in….” and the countdown actually increases instead of decreasing. On the mobile app, it says “this event has ended.” (It’s 12:20PM east coast time, so that is not possible). When accessing it through a web browser, it looks like it is about to load and says “There was an error accessing this video.” This is clearly an issue on your end so I will not accept a response of “uninstall and reinstall the apps” or “clear your cache and cookies.” If this is happening to me, it’s happening to everyone else.

It seems to me, just based on all the Instagram profiles being suggested to me that there is a surge of conventionally attractive women that are totally feminine who can get any man they want yet are coming out as either lesbian or “Bi and preferring women.” There has to be more to this story than just “that’s because being same-sex attracted is not a big deal anymore” and part of it has got to be the perceived quality of available men. Has the perceived quality of available men gone so downhill that an increasing number of women would rather date and get into relationships with other women instead?

So Jaxon Dart - the quarterback for the New York Giants - introduced a sitting US president at a charity event and because it’s Trump people are threatening to boycott games, urging fans to cancel their tickets and even hoping that he gets injured by an opposing player. And yet, people wonder why leftist politicians keep losing to republicans. Because people see this crap and think “no way am I voting for the candidates those crazy people want in elected offices.” You want democrats to win some elections? Stop the fake outrage like being mad at a 23 year man who is living his dreams and getting a chance to introduce a sitting US president, for heaven’s sake.

Regarding Spirit Airlines going under, one thing that media outlets are afraid to mention: The right are blaming Biden for blocking the JetBlue merger, the left are blaming Trump for causing fuel prices to skyrocket causing the final kill shot. Yet no one is blaming, at least in part of Spirit’s downfall for their very business model of what type of people they cater(ed) to. 25% were people who were willing to tolerate the no-frills nature of the airline because they knew if they spent less on the ticket they would have more spending money at their destination, which is what my colleague fits into. But 75% of people who flew Spirit did so because they had to, not because they wanted to. The issue is that many of these people were one financial mishap away from having to cancel their vacation plans and divert funds to more pressing matters. Catering to the latter group bit them in the butt during the COVID pandemic because those people had to do just that. What do you think their CEO meant when he said during the pandemic that there was “a significant drop in demand for domestic leisure travel?” Other airlines were not hit as badly as Sprit in this regard and Spirit never fully recovered. It’s not “classist” to not be afraid to point out when a company caters to individuals who are always walking on a financial tightrope things can go south in an instant.

Even if you never flew on Spirit a day in your life you felt their presence every time you booked a ticket on any other airline. Mainly because they kept the established legacy carriers honest with their pricing. Be prepared that be price gouged when you book your next flight. Oh, and Spirit had a fantastic safety record. Not a single incident in their 34 year existence. Unlike the legacy carriers which have cemeteries full of dead passengers from all their crashes.

It’s interesting that when I brought up the topic of whether Instagram should give people the option to hide their “following” list someone said to me, “If the gram gave people the option to hide who they are following it may be seen as a bigger red flag than if they left it open. The only people who give a shit about this are people who just don’t want a potential dating partner to see who they are following.” If it was just to avoid turning off a potential dating partner that would be one thing. But then I came across a discussion forum where a women said “if I was a hiring manager, went on a potential candidate’s instagram and saw he was following a bunch of women he clearly didn’t know his resume is going in the trash, when someone replied “why” she said, “He clearly has no self-control towards women and is a likely sexual harassment complaint waiting to happen.” So when something starts possibly causing people to lose potential *job* opportunities because of it due to people being prejudiced simply because a heterosexual man is into *gasp* women it’s time for Instagram to give people the option to make it hidden. Just like how X had to give people the option to let them hide what they liked. No one cared until people started to get fired or lost job opportunities over it.

Right, because a lot of men - that includes myself - want to make sure that their partner is not going to be an uncooperative dolt in the bedroom and don’t relish the thought of finding out she is one after the wedding and during the honeymoon. I keep seeing this a lot among the “don’t have sex before marriage” and there is one thing they are missing… You can say “communication” all you want but it all breaks down the moment you express what you want your partner to do with you and she (or he) shoots you down. What if I want her to moan and be vocal when she, ahem…. climaxes and she insists on just laying there like a dead corpse and be as quiet as a mouse? Believe it or not, a woman’s armpits are an erogenous zone. What if I want to lick her pits during foreplay or sex and she refuses to let me? What if I like to go extra deep when French kissing and she tells me “don’t use so much tongue?” What if I want to do oral on her (Side note: Women in heterosexual relationships love it when their male partners go down on them) and she thinks it’s gross and refuses to let me? Now, to be fair to the ladies, what if she wants her man to do the above and he refuses? Point is, it’s better to find out before the wedding if two people are sexually compatible than after. Because honestly that’s grounds for an annulment.

Thanks to porn, pot, and sports gambling, there’s not a great pool to begin with if you have certain standards for a husband. Then consider the number of men happy to cohabitate with a woman for years (prime fertility years often) & only vaguely speak of marriage. Then break up. Women are far from perfect, but if you want to solve fertility crisis, it’s way more about men than “girl bosses”.

Remember the movie Gus? It was an oft-forgotten Disney movie about a small-town football team that signed a mule to be its field goal kicker because the rules didn’t explicitly say the players had to be….. human beings. Five years ago, a certain prime time comedian who hosts a panel show called Trump “president Gus” because of his uncanny ability to exploit loopholes simply because no one thought to write down “you can’t do that” or didn’t write something down because people would have the common sense to know “this also applies.” Well be prepared for another Gus moment in 2028. The 22nd amendment is that part of the constitution that states no president can serve more than two terms. Pretty cut and dry, right? The authors of the 22nd amendment never thought to put the word “consecutive” in there because they thought people would have the common sense to know two terms means TWO TERMS. Doesn’t matter if they were consecutive or one term then the second 4 years later. And yet, Trump and his supporters are going to try and argue that because the 22nd doesn’t explicitly say “consecutive” that means he can run for a 3rd term. No, this is not TDS. This is legit concern born out of observing past behavior.

In order to sue for defamation you need to be able to prove in court that what the person said was false, not an opinion and damaging to the person’s reputation. For starters it’s kinda hard to defame a dead person secondly all she would have to do in “discovery” phase is show the receipts that it was definitely him. There is a reason why she hasn’t been sued yet.

If I ever become rich, one thing you will never see me do is go to the Opera (The closest thing will be a Nightwish or Floor Jansen concert but that’s it). To be honest it makes me wonder how the opera performers feel knowing that three quarters of the audience attending are only there because they think that “I went to the opera” gives them extra social cred at the country club and/or charity gala.

So I just found out that Amanda Pappas, one of our local news most popular weather forecasters, was let go from Local 10 news. According to the article I saw, she left the station in "tears" and it was mentioned there was "criticism" of her on-air style. Which means one or both of the following and I am not afraid to say it: 1. Miserable wives who have nothing better to do with their time and most likely caught their husbands tuning in to see her weather segments and got jealous. 2. Women who like clockwork fit a certain demographic: The ones who look like the "before" picture on an extreme weight loss ad, look like they are one cheeseburger away from a heart attack and were probably just jealous that people with tastes and standards would rather look at a gorgeous weathergirl who always looks amazing than someone who looks like, well.... them. If I was the station manager, I would tell the people complaining that we are not sacking a ratings booster or telling her how to dress and they can take their complaints and shove them up their ass.

Maybe those stupid Ruskies shouldn’t have invaded a sovereign country for no reason other than to feed their dictator of a leader’s ego. As far as I’m concerned Russia is deserving everything that that comes their way. They can end all this right now by having their military pull out of Ukraine, just so you know.

Hot take incoming. I posted last year about how certain fans of music genres “prequalify” an artist in order to become an active listener. That includes country. I used to think this opinion was a bit harsh but a new development sealed it for me. Last year an AI generated country song from a fake artist called 'Breaking Rust' hit the number one digital sales chart for country music. Yes, you heard that correctly. That proves my theory about country music listeners: That all you need is to sing in a southern accent, have rudimentary drums, guitar and (in some cases) a violin, and as long as the name of the song is in the song and it's about your truck, your beer or about how your spouse left you got yourself a listener. Which is the same as a so-called 'foodie' choosing a restaurant based on whether it passed it latest health inspection and nothing else. Why is the bar so low? While I recognize there are some diehards that go to the concerts or festivals, most country music listeners just use the music to occupy a void in whatever mundane activity they are doing; driving to work, cooking dinner, etc. When you are essentially using it as a “filler,” there is no need to care about anything else.
