In urban sustainability research, the importance of neighbourhood-scale sustainability assessment tools is important since the local environment and context-specific features can have a significant impact sustainability and liveability.

Generally, it can be observed that the previously established functional neighbourhoods mostly do not reflect perceived neighbourhoods in Geneva.
