What it means to be a true Hexican
Part 1
In the fall of 2019, a close friend recommended a YouTube video by a provocative and unconventional thought leader named Richard Heart. His content was undeniably thought-provoking and reminded me of other influential minds who had inspired me through their commitment to honest, principled teaching. At the time, I was deeply engaged with the Intellectual Dark Web, exploring the work of thinkers like Jordan Peterson, Sam Harris, and the Weinstein brothers. I was captivated by global geopolitics and driven by an insatiable curiosity to uncover the true mechanisms of world power, fully aware that much of what I had previously believed was merely a façade.
Richard Heart quickly stood out as another rare voice of truth in a landscape often clouded by misinformation and manipulation. He championed education and sought to equip people with the fundamentals of decentralized finance, empowering them to avoid scams, corruption, and the compromised behaviors that plague the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Naturally, such transparency and advocacy attracted hostility. But for those of us with discernment and critical thinking skills, it was clear: Richard was vilified not because he misled people, but because he helped them avoid being exploited by entrenched interests who profited from ignorance and dysfunction.
Previously, Richard was a respected figure in the Bitcoin community. When he proposed creating a superior product, a smart contract that addressed Bitcoin’s limitations, he was met with backlash, even branded a traitor by many. Yet amid that adversity emerged a distinct group of early adopters, individuals capable of navigating complexity, who unpacked the mechanics of the HEX smart contract and recognized the brilliance in Richard’s vision and teachings.
In meeting many of these early Hexicans, it became evident that we shared more than just a financial interest, we shared a common wavelength. There was a profound alignment in our worldviews and approaches to life. I’ve often said that this extended bear market has been punishing, but it doesn’t compare to the challenges faced by the original community members who held firm in their belief of something special about the place and time we all found ourselves in. Our collective resilience and enduring conviction embody what it truly means to be a Hexican: a commitment to truth, lifelong learning, and the pursuit of authentic financial sovereignty.
