Lenskart is making serious noise with their new "B" smart glasses. Love seeing an Indian brand dive deep into the AI wearables space, but let’s get real—what are they actually up against?
The hardware in Lenskart’s B glasses is Qualcomm’s AR1 Gen 1 chip, which is a solid starting point, but software is the true battlefield in AI glasses. Meta has years of R&D poured into its OS, AI integration, and ecosystem. It’s not just about 'having AI'; it’s about how that AI feels in daily use. Meta’s voice assistant, multimodal understanding, and seamless phone integration are currently lightyears ahead. Plus, Meta has recently released an update for 'Hey Meta, scan and pay' that is now functional in India; Meta has essentially checked the most important box for the Indian market.
I think it’s a good start, but there is a lot of work to do.
Do you really feel Lenskart can beat Ray-Ban Meta glasses?

@Pmkphotoworks They can do one thing right tho, not spy on people unlike a certain company whose name starts with M and made a certain smart glasses

To be honest, I have a few concerns about B by Lenskart.
It's great to see an Indian company venturing into smart glasses, but Ray-Ban has already captured such a large market share and is so much more technologically advanced that I doubt Lenskart can challenge them. There's just no way to beat Meta's software right now.
Even in the Indian context, Meta Glasses now have UPI support, so I can't really think of a unique feature Lenskart offers.
Tech aside, the brand value Ray-Ban carries is far superior. Owning a pair is a status symbol, which isn't really the case for Lenskart!

@HFVUnbox Like - Good Camera, Decent Performance, Decent Battery life, Good Software Experience, Unibody Metal Design With 7.95mm thin, Glyph Matrix etc
I think considering the current market it's a good package under 40k for those who aren't pro gamers.
