HIVMA staff are in DC this week for @AIDSUnited’s AIDSWatch conference, joining HIV advocates, leaders and allies to share their stories with Congress and push for policies, programs and funding needed to end the HIV epidemic.

HIVMA and Save HIV Funding Campaign members gathered in Virginia today for a symbolic "living funeral" to express concerns over cuts and instability in HIV funding. Advocates warn that weakening HIV infrastructure threatens decades of progress in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

"When I started out on Broadway, 'Dreamgirls,' we lost half of our cast to AIDS." Sheryl Lee Ralph—famous for her breakout role in the original Broadway production of 'Dreamgirls' and her ongoing portrayal of the no-nonsense kindergarten teacher on the sitcom 'Abbott Elementary'—champions another kind of teaching through her decades-long work as an activist, particularly raising awareness about HIV/AIDS. Recently, in collaboration with the DIVA Foundation, the nonprofit she founded in 1990, Ralph executive-produced documentary special 'Living Proof' which highlights the experiences of Black women living with HIV in the South.
